    EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Qualified applicants must be currently enrolled as a student in an accredited CO-OP program at one of the following technical schools:

     

    • Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center
    • Upper Bucks County Technical School
    • Lehigh Carbon Technical Institute

     

    Must be at least a junior level in program of study.

    Must be at least 16 years of age.

    SUMMARY

    The Knoll CO-OP Program is a three-pronged mission to encourage, educate and provide students with career path opportunities in the manufacturing.   The Knoll CO-OP Program was developed in 2017 to provide high school students the opportunity to learn about and contribute to the exciting field of contemporary crafts. The students have a shared focus between manufacturing, logistics, and administration, allowing the apprentice to gain valuable experience in preparation for entry into today’s competitive job market.

     

    AREAS OF OPPORTUNITY:

    • CNC Operations
    • Mechatronics and Engineering
    • Metal Fabrication
    • Wood Fabrication
    • Warehouse, Forklift and Logistics
    • Paint Line and Finishing

     

    STUDENT GOALS

    • Receive meaningful, project based work experience.
    • Learn about how manufacturing product production lines are scheduled and run.
    • Meet and interact with staff in various positions.
    • Have the opportunity to have their cover letter and résumé reviewed at the conclusion of the CO-OP program, as well as practice interviewing skills.
    • Students who have successfully completed the program may be considered for permanent employment if positions are available. All interested applicants may apply online at knoll.com/careers.

     

    SCOPE OF HOURS

    This CO-OP program is a semester long opportunity, with the students working between 15-20 hours a week. Additional hours are available depending on student availability and school program requirements. Work schedule is to be determined within Knoll shift hours, but could span between both shifts:

    • 1st Shift: 6am - 2pm
    • 2nd Shift: 2pm - 10pm

     

    EVALUATION

    CO-OP students shall be provided feedback throughout the program, with formal evaluations at the halfway mark and following completion. The student shall be given the opportunity to give feedback and critique of their experience.

     

    COMPENSATION

    This is a paid program. The Knoll staff takes time to educate its CO-OP students as much as possible, sharing previous work experience, reviewing cover letters and resumes, and offering an exit performance interview with constructive criticism. Knoll considers the program as an educational experience and strives to help our students succeed.

     

    Required Skills

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    As a CO-OP student for Knoll you are required to complete all job training criteria for the elements and functions of your assignment. Additional skill sets required are:

    • Must demonstrate communication between all associates on all levels, on all shifts, with written and oral skills.
    • The demonstrated ability to use hand tools or any special application tools developed for specific task.
    • The ability to work and function as a unified work team member under minimal supervision.
    • The ability to perform all required preventive maintenance (if required).
    • Must be able and willing to do all housekeeping and organize a specific work area.
    • The demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
    • The demonstrated ability to read and interpret metrics, and provide instructions.
    • Must be responsible for all aspects of safety.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and design applications preferred.
