  • Responsibilities

    This opening is forwill work with the System Security Engineering activities that includes, develops and implement plans, policies, and procedures for the Air Force S&T, laboratory management, technology transition, cooperation program, and experimentation.

     

    This person will lead Systems Security Engineering activities that include the identification and protection of critical program information (CPI) and functions, elimination or mitigation of cyber vulnerabilities, and program protection planning. The Senior Analyst will also establish engineering policy and guidance for Air Force Systems, subsystems, and end-items.

     

    The other tasks for this Scientific Analyst, Journeyman position include:

    • Assessing policy requirements and developing policy and procedures governing the interaction of Assurance in Software Engineering (ASE) into all acquisition phases of lifecycle management and sustainment of AF weaponTake charge of ASE of weapon system Platform Information Technology (PIT) policy development/writing and plans to include several structure and strategic
    • Planning and coordinating policy development for the acquisition, implementation, and integration of cyber security resiliency software (CSRS) techniques into software supporting operations in all phases of life cycle management and sustainment of AF weapon
    • Reviewing and providing expertise on existing and proposed policy documents that have Cyber Resiliency sections or possibly impact AF enterprise ASE policy, and weapon system Platform Information Systems (PIT)
    • Establishing and promoting consistency across validated security and resiliency software in support of operational systems-level requirements concepts of operations (CONOPS) and architectures and ensures all program technical activities are consistent with these system level baseline
    • Reviewing program technical approaches to identify PIT and Embedded systems where integration of material solutions or Tactics, Technics and Practices (TTP) for operational software improves cyber security and resiliency of the entire
    • Reviewing of acquisition programs for integration and technical changes to programs to achieving better software security and
    • Assessing operating system end of life support analysis and recommending strategies to addressing impact

    Active Secret Clearance

     

    Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or Information Assurance.

    Must have 5 years of experience in acquisition and either Industrial Engineering or Safety Engineering.

     

    Level II DAWIA (or equivalent) certification in SE is also desired.

     

     Alternative Acceptable Skills: an engineer who has either Systems Engineering or Industrial Engineering experience designing or fielding a weapon system; production/quality/manufacturing experience desired.
