  • Responsibilities

    General Description:

    We are looking for a human resources specialist who will be responsible for performing HR-related duties professionally and in a highly confidential manner. This position fulfills responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding and offboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all personnel; assists in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures.
    • Performs benefits administration, including open enrollment, claims resolution, change reporting, and communication of benefits information to employees.
    • Acts as liaison between our company and benefits company.
    • Manage the recruitment and selection process, providing advice and guidance to department managers; utilize applicant tracking system, review and post job advertisements; initiate and review background check results.
    • Design and conduct employee training to enhance the department's knowledge of foundational concepts and company policies.
    • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports as needed.
    • Develop and update the company’s salary budget.
    • Maintaining department records, reports, and organizational charts
    • Coordinate the performance evaluation process for all employees.
    • Performs other duties and projects as required.
    • Collaborate with VP and Manager of Human Resources on emerging Employee Relations issues, the disciplinary action process, and creative options for resolution.
    • Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and employee relations.
    • Be open to learning how to assist with Payroll and eventually become a backup for the staff currently doing the payroll.

    Experience, Education and Certification

    • Bachelor’s or associate degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is highly desired.
    • Minimum of two years of human resource management experience is preferred.
    • SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus.
    • Payroll preparation experience is also a plus.

    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
