    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed Wireless Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our growing team. The team supports mission-critical applications for our government customer that is responsible for local and global law enforcement and intelligence efforts.

    The candidate will join the Wireless Project Delivery / Fulfillment team whose responsibilities include the development and deployment of secure wireless technical solutions on behalf of longstanding government customer. The team will prepare and steward all the documentation, plans and milestones (steps) needed from investment registration, to systems security authorization and accreditation (SAA) review, to attainment of ATT (Authorization to Test) to ATO (Authorization to Operate) for our specific wireless projects, with our mission.

    The ideal candidate for this position should have extensive experience performing the duties of an information system security engineer for highly technical and highly secure IT/Wireless system deployments.

     


    Requirements

    • 15+ years of experience in Telecommunications related work experience
    • BS/BA Degree
    • Active Top Secret clearance
    • Ability to architect, design, and integrate security solutions for wireless networks and systems, as well as the wired networks and on-the-wire host resources associated with the wireless network
    • Skills necessary to document the wireless and wired infrastructure designs, logical and physical, at the boundary, component, interface and protocols levels, for SAA documentation required, including the Security Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
    • Ability to manage large volumes of design documentation, overlay additional facilities and security boundary information on them using CAD and Visio, and converting the designs to formats compatible for presentation in the MS Office 365 suite of products, including MS Word and SharePoint
    • Have knowledge, ability, and skills to perform Radio Frequency (RF) scans and heat map reports and analyses, utilizing the standards and industry standard tools for each spectrum (e.g. Qualipoc and IBwave for LTE, Ekahau and Airwave for WIFI)
    • Have expert knowledge of advanced tools and infrastructure for broad spectrum (0-24 GHz), fast-scan technologies for wireless detection, direction finding, demodulation, and decoding, to include In-place Monitoring Systems (IPMS), and technology exploitation for TSTM
    • Have expert knowledge of LTE (cellular data) and 802.11 WIFI, including evolving standards to 5G, Private LTE, and WIFI 6 / 802.11ax, and methods both physical and using IT to control and regulate signal strength, wireless emanations, and their propagations, as well as access
    • Have expert knowledge of switched and routed (layer 2 and 3) IP networking, at a WAN and LAN level, and in the translation of communications from optical, optical wireless, and radio spectrum to IP Ethernet traversing fiber optical and copper transport mediums and networks
    • Have expert knowledge of current encryption protocols (such as WPA3, GRE, Suite-B VPN, SSL) and authentication protocols (e.g. X.509, EAP-PEAP) and the methods for integrating them into wireless communications infrastructures
    • Have practical experience in configuring and integrating switches, port security, controllers, firewalls, user management systems, insider threat appliances, intrusion detection systems, secure gateways, DMZs, VLAN separations, address management (e.g. DNS, DHCP), broadcast domains, system logging / archiving, sensors, host checkers, captive portals, PKI certificate authorities, Directory Services, and Mobile Device Management systems as both virtual machines or physical appliances, and to segregate network users, data, and sessions, physically and logically, by classification or controlled access

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience managing project utilizing the SAFe Agile project management methodology
    • Ability to perform interim design reviews of the project's network and system deliverables to ensure that security risks, vulnerabilities and threats are objectively measured and assessed, but meeting security controls, for both physical technical and IT technical requirements
    • Ability to oversee and monitor all security testing, and test plans, including rules of engagement, and will recommend candidate solutions for addressing security deficiencies discovered in security audits, inspections, and reviews to include penetration testing, vulnerability testing and threat assessments
    • Ability to participate in the security monitoring, audit and incident response for any associated WIDS/WIPS and/or IPMS
