SUMMARY:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the management and operation of S&K Gaming, LLC which includes: KwaTaqNuk Resort Casino, Gray Wolf Peak Casino, and Big Arm Resort all of which are owned and operated by the S&K Gaming, LLC an entity of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation.
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company by working with the board of directors and the executive management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.
This position is supervised by the S&K Gaming, LLC gaming board of directors. The primary goal is to maximize profitability for the LLC while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and restrictions. The incumbent shall endeavor to meet the current philosophy and mission of the LLC. The incumbent is expected to be “results” oriented in meeting the LLC’s goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The CEO is responsible for both short- and long-term strategic planning. The goals are:
Achieve maximum profitability through efficient and targeted marketing programs, state of the art casino product placement, quality of food, excellent services as related to profit in gaming operation, hotel/hospitality/ F&B management, and marina/RV operations.
Develop each profit center so that they can sustain their own operations financially and to produce and deliver an annual profit to the Tribes.
Work as an active leader of a collaborative team with a shared vision that initiates action consistent with the Tribes adopted goals, policies, and initiatives. This includes working within the Tribes Economic Development policy to strengthen the owner/operator relationship with Tribally Owned Businesses and revenue enhancement and consistency.
Working at the discretion and direction of the S&K Gaming, LLC board of directors in analyzing data, making precise decisions to improve efficiencies and profitability and identify growth opportunities in all facets connected to gaming, hotel/hospitality, and marina/RV opportunities.
Provides leadership in conceptual and design phases of planned and ongoing property development projects.
Develops and works on a current strategic plan to advance the company’s mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth as an organization.
Works closely with the General Manager’s, Chief Financial Officer, and Marketing Director to monitor short- and long-term performance objectives & quarterly benchmarks to meet and/or exceed forecasted revenue goals and guest satisfaction targets.
Be accountable for directing and coordinating professional, technical, clerical staff, resources, tasks requirement, systems, and process towards creating an energized and positive work environment that results in the delivery of exceptional guest service and for identifying opportunities for further efficiencies.
Develop a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy and a year-to-year plan to market gaming and all other related profit centers with measurable outcome.
Will establish and maintain positive and effective working relationship with all team members to ensure complaints are minimal to non-existent. Conflict is mediated by ensuring fair and equal treatment. Leadership is an example of positive attitude and work ethic demonstrating pride in the overall gaming enterprise that is expected from all staff.
Design and maintain recruitment hiring and retention strategies that place the most qualified individuals on our team and which are consistent with the Indian preference in the S&K Gaming, LLC handbook.
Develops an employee orientation and ongoing training that emphasizes positive customer satisfaction and overall work ethic and pride in the overall gaming enterprises.
Maintain open lines of communication by engaging in staff meetings on a periodic basis, including weekly meetings as scheduling permits.
He/she will develop and recommend a reward and incentive system within gaming and hospitality/hotel and marina/RV operations, seeking approval of the LLC board of directors prior to implementation.
The incumbent will perform any other related duties as required by the position and/or contract or as assigned by the S&K Gaming, LLC gaming board of directors.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a master’s degree in management or Business Administration, Preferred, or bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, or related field. Required.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated, broad based operational success in executive management and leadership, which includes gaming. Required.
Must provide a minimum of (3) letters of references acknowledging your executive management experience. Required.
Must have had a minimum of 2 years oversight, management, or hands on experience with an Indian gaming enterprise with a minimum of a 300-machine casino; Hotel/Hospitality operation with a minimum of 100 + rooms; F&B operations with a minimum of 50 seats. Required, and experience in operation of a marina/RV. Preferred.
Must have a conceptual understanding of the nature of Indian gaming and policies and procedures, regulations, and technical rules as defined by: Tribal Gaming Commission (TGA); National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC); National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA) and Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA). Required.
Must have full working knowledge of modern business and accounting practices, policies and procedures, financial internal controls, including Class II Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) with a high emphasis on reading, understanding, and analyze a variety of financial reports. Required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGULATIONS:
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Tribal gaming license.
Must submit a Location Manager Application and criminal background application within 30 days through Montana’s Department of Revenue.
Must be able to possess a valid State of Montana Driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s insurance.
Will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement annually and to implement the same for all gaming staff.
Will be employed under contract. Contract will require annual performance appraisal. This is attached and incorporated into the contract.
This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act for purposes of compensatory time and overtime pay. Full Time Team Members (32+ hours) will be eligible for employee benefits after 90 days. Include the following:
