    Job Description

    JOIN SADA AS A LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER

     

    YOUR MISSION 

    As a LEGAL & COMPLIANCE MANAGER at SADA, your main duties will be to (a) design, implement and manage internal compliance programs (such as data privacy/security, anti-bribery/anti-corruption (ABAC) and Code of Conduct), certifications (including ISO27001 and HI-TRUST certification applications), and training; (b) identify, design (with our IT team) and implement contract management software for SADA Legal & Compliance; (c) lead external and internal liaison and stakeholder management for the Legal department; (d) manage governance for SADA material contracts, including branch offices and oversee compliance actions for SADA operations in the U.S., Canada and Armenia, where we operate two foreign subsidiaries;  (e) support the drafting and negotiating of key documentation in support of our Public Sector Sales and Product team: and/or (f) manage trademark or patent applications on behalf of the Company. You will report directly to SADA's Chief Legal Officer (CLO), who is a wonderful human being, partner with our Contracts Manager and work closely with other managers across departments, including Sales Operations, Finance and People Operations (HR), as well as support SADA's Board of Directors and sub-committees (Audit, Compensation and Governance). May also engage with SADA's external auditors, vendors and legal services providers, and the Google partner contracting team, as needed by the CLO.

    A successful Legal & Compliance Manager will demonstrate a strong attention to detail along with the ability to discover potential risks for our company. Our ideal candidate has previous experience managing, revising and automating a legal department's workflow, outstanding critical thinking and attention to detail, and enjoys a fun and collaborative working environment.

    • Form one dynamic, cohesive team with SADA's Contracts Manager, and any future additions to the team, as part of the SADA Legal & Compliance Department
    • Ensure all deadlines and conditions described on contracts are met 
    • Maintain highly organized system of physical and digital records
    • Attend/support quarterly Board and monthly committee meetings, and prepare meeting minutes, notes and resolutions
    • In addition to the above duties, the Senior Legal Operations Manager would be expected to handle other administrative and legal tasks

    EXPECTATIONS

    Training - Ongoing with first-week orientation at HQ followed by a 90-day onboarding schedule. Details of the timeline can be shared.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Required Qualifications: 

    • 3+ years work experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Legal Ops Manager or relevant role at a major law firm, tech company or regulated institution (health care or bank) 
    • Ability to structure and manage a compliance function in-house at a tech company
    • Knowledge of legal requirements involved with contracts, including ensuring that the appropriate approvals have been documented
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Keen attention to detail, with an ability to spot and correct errors
    • High integrity and a can-do attitude
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including SADA's Board of Directors and executive management team, sales, managers, customers and external partners
    • Spearhead compliance standards acquisition in tandem with other SADA stakeholders, including HIPAA (HI-TRUST) and ISO27001
    • Willingness to pursue professional certifications (US CIPP), as needed

    Useful Qualifications:

    • BA/BS or Paralegal certificate or equivalent from accredited institution a plus
    • Experience with NetSuite and/or legal contract management software platform(s) strongly preferred 
    • Strong compliance background preferred
    • Experience working with an in-house legal team preferred 
    • Experience or strong interest in technology and Cloud computing preferred
    • Public notary qualification helpful, but not essential
    • Familiarity with public procurement helpful, but not essential
