Job Description
Seeking a full-time civil engineering project engineer/analyst to support design and construction projects in a flexible yet fast-paced professional, small-business environment. Projects focus on high-profile civil infrastructure projects such as bus and rail transit lines and stations, site developments, bridges, and highways throughout Southern California with an emphasis on utility services and third-party coordination disciplines.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor′s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or other related technical field
EXPERIENCE
- 1 - 3 years of entry-level engineering experience in related disciplines
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Certified Engineer-in-Training
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
EXAMPLE DUTIES
- Provides engineering design support and design support during construction while working under the direction of project/task lead and/or registered civil engineer
- Prepare engineering deliverables and implements appropriate corrective actions
- Manage, design, develop, create and maintain projects
- Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
- Technical writing and preparation of technical memorandums, reports, and feasibility studies
- Develop CAD base maps and modeling databases in Civil 3D or related modeling software
- Familiarity with quantity takeoffs, cost estimate and schedule preparation
- Ability to read and analyze survey documentation, easements, and entitlement reports
- Construction plan and profile preparation
- Development of construction cross sections and vertical design profiles
- Analyze contract documents, shop drawings, specifications, RFI (request for information) for compliance with codes, project specifications, and Agency/Owner design criteria
- Prepare and Submit Permits to Comply with Federal, State, and Local Regulations
- Preparation of construction redlines and as-builts
- Coordinates projects with utility companies, railroad, and city, county, and state agencies when required
- Daily coordination with other project discipline representatives and teams
