Directs and manages overall daily TK/ K Program operations with the primary concern for a comprehensive, outcome - driven program and service delivery. The KinderClub Coordinator is also in charge with coordinating day- to-day operations of TK / K summer programs including program coordination scheduling, supervision, lesson planning, and implementation, academic success, healthy lifestyles, good character and citizenship.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure programs, services, and activities are planned and implemented following The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro youth development strategy
Promote safety of members and quality in program at all times virtually or in person
Provide guidance and role modeling to members
Plan, organize and implement activities designed to improve students’ academic, social and emotional performance
Initiate new programs with the approval of the Site Director
Supervise youth and communicate with staff, director, parents and teachers about student’s behavior and progress
Manage active participation of all youth during activities
Coordinate and implement project-based learning lesson plans
Work together with other staff members to achieve program goals
Assist with homework, tutoring and individual learning lesson activities
Track students’ performance with spreadsheets and journals daily/weekly
May participate in special trainings, programs, meetings, and/or events
Lead the workflow of any KinderClub staff
Create safe spaces adhering to SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) and BGCSL best practices
RELATIONSHIPS Internal: Maintain daily contact with club staff, club members, and site director to receive/provide information, discuss issues and explain guidelines supporting strategic goals deemed by BGCSL. External: Maintain communications with principals, teachers, students, parents, and all major stake holders in resolving challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 48 collegiate unites satisfied or (AA degree) B.S. preferred. In lieu of degree candidates must meet the minimum qualifications for an Instructional Assistant as per school district policy
Must have a minimum of 1 year experience working or volunteering with youth ages 4-6yrs old
Experience teaching specific content area(s) preferred
Must be highly motivated to provide quality Expanded Learning opportunities to youth
Proven ability to work with people from a variety of different ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, religious, sexual, and generational backgrounds
Must be an affective communicator
Must be comfortable leading physical activities with groups of 10-15 youth
Must be available daily , Monday through Friday during after school program hours
Current CPR And First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
Covid-19 vaccination required
Bi-lingual is a plus
Valid state driver’s license or state ID
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT To supervise program and interact with the children, KCC must be able to engage in high levels of physical activity, including but not limited to running, jumping, throwing, occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less. The workplace may be in a school setting utilizing a combination of indoor and outdoor; cold weather, warm weather conditions.
