SAP – Integrated Business Planner Expert (IBP)

Our customer is a manufacturer supplying specialty products from a primary facility in the midwest US and roughly a dozen additional regional and global sites. They use SAP as their ERP system in most sites. They recently implemented the SAP Integrated Business Planner (IBP) module but now want to reconfigure it and expand its use for greater functionality and business impact.

They seek a very seasoned SAP IBP expert who will design, guide, and ultimately re-implement the IBP module to drive the greatest value. This would be done first at their main site and, subsequently, at the other sites. SAP and IBP standardization across sites is also a goal.

The first phase would produce a plan for how IBP is to be reconfigured and implemented at the main site. The target timeframe for developing the plan is 4-6 weeks. The target for the implementation/go-live phase is June 2025. The regional and global sites would subsequently go through a similar process of planning and implementation.

Summary:

SAP IBP expert to plan and then be the lead implementer for a reimplementation of the IBP module at a primary manufacturing site in the midwest USA, then at regional and global sites. The expert will work with the customer and other consultants as necessary to deliver the project requirements. He/she will have business acumen as well as hands-on technical acumen to ensure the implementation will result in a positive business impact.

Major responsibilities include :

• Demonstrate to senior management how SAP IBP can be reconfigured to improve business performance – particularly via the sub-modules for managing pricing, how to do finalization of the demand plan, and how to better manage opportunities and vulnerabilities.
• Within 4-6 weeks, develop a 6-month or shorter plan for re-implementing IBP at the main site.
• Deliver an optimum solution design that can be standardized across multiple sites.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for smooth delivery with a fixed time/effort model and be able to operate effectively within those constraints.
• Work with a global mindset and coordinate with others to deliver a solution within deadlines.

Requirements to be considered:

• 10+ years of overall experience in SAP Manufacturing Industry Experience.
• 5+ years of strong SAP IBP modules expertise wherein worked as an Analyst, Configurator, and Lead.
• Worked as onsite delivery lead for at least 3 full lifecycle end-to-end implementation projects for SAP Modules IBP.
• Strong in-depth experience in SAP manufacturing – Discrete, repetitive manufacturing.
• Domain experience in the Manufacturing Industry with a good knowledge of Production Planning, Sales and Operation Planning, Shop floor Planning, KANBAN, and Quality Management
• Basic exposure to ALE, IDOC’s, and Workflows.
• Knowledge of third-party tools in the manufacturing space.
• Excellent facilitation skills, including experience planning and participating in SAP blueprint and design sessions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a technical / engineering degree program or Post Graduate Degree in Management
• Knowledge of new SAP interfaces with SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Experience on working in SAP implementation and support projects
• Hands-on experience working on IBP submodules for pricing, demand planning, and opportunities and vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of implementation methodologies.
