    Overview

    SAP S/4 HANA Service & Repair Lead will be responsible for driving end-to-end service, repair, and refurbishment processes within the SAP S/4HANA landscape.

    This role requires deep business process understanding of Service and repair processes and SAP functional expertise across Sales & Distribution (SD), Plant Maintenance (PM) / Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) , and Customer Service (CS)/ SAP S/4 HANA Service, along with strong integration knowledge with Project Systems (PS).

    The consultant will lead design, implementation, and optimization of service and repair business processes, ensuring seamless coordination between service operations, logistics, and financial tracking for complex products.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    Service & Repair Process Management

    • Lead end-to-end design and implementation of service and repair processes, including depot repair and refurbishment scenarios.
    • Manage service orders, repair orders, and refurbishment processes across the lifecycle.
    • Define workflows for returns, inspection, repair execution, and shipment back to customers.
    • Work with Business and IT stakeholders to enable this functionality in global implementation template of SAP S/4 HANA solution

     

    Plant Maintenance (PM) & Service Execution / Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)

    • Design end to end process to manage Plant Maintenance orders for repair and refurbishment activities.
    • Enable integration between service orders and maintenance orders for execution tracking.
    • Support equipment tracking, service history, and maintenance planning.

     

    Sales & Distribution (SD) & Order Management

    • Manage all sales and distribution processes, including:
      • Order Management
      • Delivery processing
      • Pricing and billing
    • Support service contracts, warranties, and service billing scenarios.
    • Implement consignment processes and service-related logistics flows.

     

    Refurbishment & Consignment Processes

    • Design and implement refurbishment scenarios, including material returns, repair cycles, and re-delivery.
    • Manage consignment stock processes, ensuring accurate tracking and billing.
    • Align refurbishment processes with inventory, warehouse, and finance teams.

    Integration with Project Systems (PS)

    • Integrate service and repair processes with SAP Project Systems (PS) for:
      • Engineer-to-Order (ETO) and project-based service scenarios
      • Cost tracking and revenue recognition
    • Ensure seamless linkage between WBS elements, service orders, and financial postings.

    S/4HANA Implementation & Leadership

    • Lead fit-gap analysis, solution design, configuration, and testing for service and repair processes.
    • Support ECC to S/4HANA transformation, including data migration and cutover activities.
    • Apply SAP Activate methodology in agile delivery environments.
    • Drive stakeholder workshops, business alignment, and process standardization.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting

    • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Service teams.
    • Provide project updates, risk assessments, and issue resolution tracking.
    • Develop training materials and conduct user enablement sessions.

     

    Required Skills & Competencies

    SAP Functional Expertise

    • 10+ years of SAP experience with strong focus on:
      • Sales & Distribution (SD)
      • Plant Maintenance (PM) / Customer Service (CS) / Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) / SAP S/4 HANA Service
    • Proven experience in service, repair, and refurbishment processes.
    • Strong knowledge of:
      • Service Orders & Repair Orders
      • Returns Management
      • Consignment Processes
      • Pricing and Billing
    • Hands-on experience with Plant Maintenance orders for repair execution.
    • Strong integration experience with SAP Project Systems (PS).
    • Experience with S/4HANA service management processes and simplifications.

    Project Management Skills

    • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive deliverables.
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
    • Experience with Agile and SAP Activate methodologies preferred.

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience in after-sales service, industrial equipment, or manufacturing industries.
    • Exposure to Depot Repair, Field Service, or Warranty Management.
    • Experience with EWM or warehouse integration for repair logistics.
