RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with the support of the Tax Principal, the Tax Manager will work alongside a team to provide tax compliance and business advisory services for a variety of clients including, but not limited to individuals, partnerships, corporations, S-corporations, estates, and trusts. They will support the management of a portfolio across a variety of industries, of clients of varying size and scope, and act as the point of contact for those clients.

It is essential that the Tax Manager nurture relationships with co-workers and clients while adhering to rights and responsibilities of accountants and practitioners as outlined by IRS IRC Circular 230.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

· Serve as a team leader for a number of client service engagements including involvement with timely completion of income tax returns.

· Execute and provide technical review for complex individual, trust, partnership, and S & C Corporation tax returns and state income tax returns and proactively address tax issues and conduct appropriate research regarding client’s tax issues in order to resolve them

· Initiate and monitor internal communication regarding status of tasks, relevant technical issues discovered, status of workload, and expected delivery dates.

· Maintain accuracy and completeness of files and due dates on all assigned clients.

· Develop client presentations and participate in selling opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and experience expectations are as follows:

· Bachelor's degree in accounting or taxation

· CPA or willingness and ability to obtain CPA within 12 months

· 5+ years of experience in public accounting and tax preparation experience for individuals and a wide range of business structures including sole proprietorships, Partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, and non-profits/foundation/trust-related tax work

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), QuickBooks, and ProSystems Fx

· Track record of successful client engagement management

· Able to take the lead on tasks, work independently, efficiently, and accurately with minimal supervision

· Detail oriented and strong organizational skills for handling multiple projects simultaneously

· Thrives in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to change
