Job Summary
The SCADA/Instrumentation Engineer supports the deployment, testing, and maintenance of SCADA systems, sensors, and field instrumentation for BaRupOn's power infrastructure projects. This associate-level role includes hands-on wiring, device commissioning, PLC interface support, and remote monitoring configuration. Ideal for candidates with a background in electrical, controls, or industrial automation technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and troubleshoot SCADA field devices (RTUs, PLCs, sensors, I/O modules)
- Assist with control panel wiring, conduit layout, and instrumentation calibration
- Support network configuration for remote data acquisition and SCADA integration
- Maintain site logs, device maps, as-built wiring diagrams, and IP/device tables
- Collaborate with engineering and software teams to implement SCADA protocols (Modbus, DNP3, BACnet, etc.)
- Support commissioning of SCADA-enabled power equipment, inverters, meters, and battery systems
- Conduct field testing, loop checks, and signal verifications during site startup
- Assist with SCADA cybersecurity and access control documentation
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, or similar field
- 2–4 years of experience with SCADA, controls, or electrical instrumentation systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and network topologies
- Familiarity with HMI systems, control panels, and low-voltage DC/AC systems
- Comfortable working on construction sites and using test equipment (multimeters, signal generators)
- Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with solar PV, battery storage, or industrial energy systems
- Knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, or IEC 61850 protocols
- Hands-on PLC or RTU programming experience (Schneider, Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
- OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, or other safety certifications
