Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW The position of Technical Associate, Responsible Sourcing Strategies, in the Food and Agriculture division involves working directly with client specific Responsible Sourcing programs and other programs on an as needed basis. The primary responsibilities of the Technical Associate relate to report review, review of corrective action plans (CAPs), data analysis and risk evaluation. The Associate is also responsible for development and continued improvement of standards, program materials and procedures for preexisting programs and programs in development. Communications and reports will be handled in both Spanish and English.
This role requires international experience in social certifications and corrective actions in the agricultural sector, a high-level of independence while collaborating with a coordinator and regional-based auditors.
Additionally, the Technical Associate collaborates with the Director, Program Manager, and other program personnel to support development of new certification and/or auditing programs. Further responsibilities may include research and development for new business opportunities and trainings.
RELEVANT SERVICES/SCHEMES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Auditing
Conduct desk-based audits as required
Conduct review of audit reports completed by staff auditors and regionally-based auditors
Conduct review of CAPs and related reports
Audit Coordination
Communications
Ensure communications between SCS auditors, other third-party auditing organizations, and clients are carried out in a timely fashion
Maintain excellent communication with clients and respond to client inquiries with a high level of customer service and professionalism
Attend trainings and meetings, as necessary
Technical Support
Analyze data related to coffee supply chains
Conduct risk evaluations based on results of data analysis
Provide guidance and support to via email and telephone
Provide technical support to auditors and third-party organizations on an as needed basis
Develop, translate, and edit program materials, reports, and report templates
Develop and deliver training programs and related materials
Program Development
Carry out research in support of new program development
Develop standards, program materials and procedures related to preexisting programs or programs under development
Operations
Assist Director and Manager with managing contract auditors and staff auditors, if applicable.
Ensure program compliance with SCS quality system
Additional tasks as requested by the Director and Managers
