Job Description
Construction company in the Oviedo, FL area is looking for an EXPERIENCED HUMAN RESOURCE PROFESSIONAL to take responsibility for all HR functions. This is a roll up the sleeves, hands on position servicing 250+ employees. This is a professional position that will be supportive to our field operations. Position reports to the CFO with a dotted line to the General Superintendent. Salary commensurate with experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for monthly group insurance billings, worker’s compensation insurance billings and reporting, 401(k) enrollments, tracking and reporting.
Supports the CFO and the General Superintendent to deliver HR programs, services, and solutions.
Handle all inquiries from the field relating to HR, payroll, and employee loans.
Responsible for all new hire paperwork and drug testing.
Monitor and track PTO for all employees.
Monitor, tracks, and process all employee loans with a monthly reconciliation.
Assist the President and CFO with updating company policies and forms.
Responsible to create and update job descriptions for various roles.
Assists in the planning and coordinating of safety and skills training.
Annual renewals of group insurance packages; analysis and buying.
Provides support in various HR areas which may include new hire onboarding and training, safety compliance and monitoring, performance, and talent management programs.
Accountable for supporting the deployment of appropriate resources and tools into the company to optimize an environment where the workplace is free of all discrimination and harassment by proactively measuring employee engagement, turnover, and compliance with all applicable Federal, state, and/or municipal laws.
Functions as the HR representative in conducting escalated employee investigations and collaborates with the President, CFO, and the General Superintendent.
Assists managers and supervisors in talent acquisition and retention activities.
Annual planning and coordinating all employee events.
Oversee In-house payroll system.
ADHOC projects and reporting, assisting CFO in various initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have hands on experience processing payroll required, preferably with a construction company.
Certification as a PHR or SPHR preferred, but not required.
Experience providing guidance and advice to senior management on employment law matters.
Spectrum Viewpoint software experience preferred.
Bi-lingual is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required, and at least 2 years of experience with processing payroll, with a payroll vendor, and in an HR concentration such as an HR Generalist or other relative position is required.
Experience evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, laws, and regulations.
Experience delivering presentations and facilitating workshops to various audience levels within an organization.
Experience with employee disciplinary issues.
Knowledge of sound corporate policies to ensure a safe and productive environment.
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel.
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word.
Excellent people skills. Must be friendly, yet assertive, and have a desire to support the field operations.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
