Tiffee Companies, Inc. operates the Renewal by Andersen affiliates in the Oregon, Southwest Washington and San Diego, CA markets as the exclusive contractor installing Renewal by Andersen premium products.

    The Tiffee Companies has nearly 450 employees in Oregon and California.

    We are looking for a seasoned professional to lead our Human Resources function through our next phase of growth. Our markets have sustained double-digit revenue growth for the last decade with an expectation of continuing that trend. The right leader will be someone that can supplement the contributions of our sales, marketing, and operations teams by independently developing HR best practices and making them happen. They will also be instrumental in assisting with maintaining a culture of excellence and employee engagement. This position will serve as a senior member of the company’s management team and report to the COO.

    This role will be based out of our Portland, OR office, but will lead the HR function companywide.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE

    • Lead, mentor and develop a multi-state HR team of around six (6) employees
    • Provide Strategic HR advice as to current and future needs to ensure the company meets its business goals while being mindful of budget and revenue considerations. This includes continued assessment of the company’s staffing, employee morale, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training and development, compliance with employment laws and regulations and other areas of the human resources function.
    • Ensure the HR Department provides a high level of HR support to the company and its employees with the goal of ensuring employee satisfaction and retention
    • Provide coaching, guidance and recommendations to executives and managers on issues such as talent development, employee relations, employee compensation, and legal compliance
    • Develop and implement employment policies and practices while ensuring compliance with rules and regulations in the jurisdictions our business operates including Oregon, California, and Washington. This includes ensuring documents such as the Employee Handbook are compliant and up to date with the latest laws, procedures and best practices.
    • Assess the training and leadership needs of managers and employees, including any legally required training. Plan and coordinate training with the goal of increasing the effectiveness of the managers and employees.
    • Drive workforce planning, including overseeing talent acquisition and retention
    • Develops, implements and oversees effective compensation strategies and processes
    • Conduct internal investigations of possible misconduct, including alleged harassment or discrimination, and maintain all proper documentation. Works and coordinates with outside legal counsel and investigators, as needed
    • Lead employee performance management to ensure an effective and efficient process
    • Oversee the Health, Welfare, and Retirement plans by designing and managing a best in class employee benefits program while ensuring legal compliance. Acts as the liaison with the benefits broker and providers regarding the administration of benefits; on-going assessment of benefit needs and costs, overseeing plan changes and the Open Enrollment process. Work to correct any issues and ensure ACA and ERISA compliance.
    • Oversees the company’s workers compensation process, including the carriers and vendors to ensure employees are receiving the proper care and that the program is in compliance with all regulations.
    • Expand our HRIS footprint, maximizing the use of our current HRIS (Namely)
    • Oversee compliance with laws, regulations and best practices in regard to Employee Files, I-9’s, and other HR related documentation. 
    • Stay up to date with changes in federal and state laws and ensure the company maintains compliance with all applicable employment laws.
    • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned

    WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON

    • 10+ years of HR management experience
    • 5+years as an HR Director in a comparably-sized or larger organization
    • Proven track record of leading an HR department or in a senior HR position with significant influence
    • Excellent problem solving, relationship building, influencing and change management skills
    • Detailed knowledge of the various laws and regulations around employment practices; specifically the states of California, Washington and Oregon
    • Ability to think strategically and develop short-term and long-term plans
    • Be skillful with technology
    • Driven to grow personally and succeed collectively
    • A great work-ethic, and a passion for growth and success
    • Flexibility and the ability to adapt well in a changing environment
    • Be able to motivate yourself and be results oriented
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Masters degree is a plus
    • Professional HR certification is preferred
    • Ability to travel out of state approximately six times per year for a few days at a time
