    We are looking for a professional Human Resources Manager who will help support the organization's goals through our next phase of growth. Our markets have sustained double-digit revenue growth for the last decade with an expectation of continuing that trend. The position is involved in multiple facets of the business including performance management, benefits administration, leave management, employee relations, recruiting, training and development and compliance with employment laws and regulations.

     

    This role will be based out of our Portland, OR office and will report to the Director of Human Resources


    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE

    • Supervise, mentor and develop an HR Coordinator.
    • Provide a high level of HR support to the company and its employees with the goal of ensuring employee satisfaction and retention
    • Serve as the point of contact for employees to provide interpretation of employment laws and regulations, policies and employment-related matters.
    • Consult on performance issues, disciplinary actions, terminations and the investigation and resolution of employee complaints. Seeks guidance on more complex issues as appropriate.
    • Responsible for communicating to employees in regard to the Employee Handbook and any company human resource policies, procedures, benefits, etc. including changes to these or to laws or other regulations.
    • Assist with or conduct internal investigations of possible misconduct, including alleged harassment or discrimination, and maintain all proper documentation. Works closely with the Director of Human Resources and any outside legal counsel or investigators, as needed.
    • Oversee recruiting and onboarding of new employees while ensuring the process goes smoothly and is compliant with federal and state laws.
    • Assist with Health, Welfare, and Retirement plans including employee education, enrollment, termination and qualified event changes. Assist with the Open Enrollment process, work to correct any issues and act as a resource for employees on their benefit questions and needs.
    • Process employee separations to include performing exit interviews, preparing required documents and final paycheck distribution.
    • Implement with guidance from the Director of Human Resources, various HR-related projects such as performance management, safety program, and other projects and programs as needed.
    • Oversee the leave management process and assists with leave paperwork and tracking the completion of required documentation.
    • Responsible for workers’ compensation administration, including communication with employees, reporting requirements, claims processing and leave requirements.
    • Ensure compliance is maintained with laws, regulations and best practices in regard to Employee Files, I-9’s, and other HR related documentation.
    • Stay up to date with changes in federal and state laws and ensure the company maintains compliance with all applicable employment laws..
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON

    • 5 + years of Human Resources experience
    • I + years of managing direct reports
    • Proven track record of success in a professional HR position
    • High level of problem solving and relationship building skills
    • Knowledge of the various laws and regulations around employment practices; specifically the states of Washington and Oregon
    • Able to develop short-term and long-term plans
    • Be skillful with technology
    • Driven to grow personally and succeed collectively
    • A great work-ethic, and a passion for growth and success
    • Flexibility and the ability to adapt well in a changing environment
    • Be able to motivate yourself and be results oriented
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent years of HR professional experience
    • Professional Certification preferred
