    Strategic College Consulting is the premier college consultation firm. Our focus is assisting and supporting families navigate the often confusing, daunting, and competitive college planning process. We are seeking a part-time Education Consultant to provide industry-leading and strategic consultation to students and their families at each stage of the college planning and admission process. Our Education Consultants are a friendly, trustworthy source for students navigating the college planning and application process by providing a guided path toward achieving their goals. This role will start at 2 to 5 hours per week and potentially grow into a full-time role!

    This is a great opportunity for an individual who loves sharing and guiding others in the college admission experience and who welcomes the prospect of utilizing their amazing skills and knowledge, whether it is dipping a toe back into the workforce or fulfilling some spare time by providing students and their families with knowhow to achieve their goals.

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Game Plan

    • Highlight all the areas of the college planning and application process
    • Provide a detailed and strategic plan for the student to follow for preparing, applying, and being accepted to colleges
    • Strategic plan for each year that students will utilize to stay on track for a competitive college

    Relationship building

    • Provide expert guidance, insight, and advice
    • Become a trusted advisor to the students and families
    • Provide unbiased feedback

    Coach

    • Coach students and families through the competitive college planning and admissions process
    • Interviewing techniques and scenarios so they ace admission interviews
    • Administer psychological/academic assessments to design a coaching plan

    Admission essay editor

    • Help student strategically write their essays from beginning to end
    • Ensure students make an impression in their essays
    • Proof-read and review essays before submittal

    Attend conferences on college counseling

    Other Duties as assigned – Research, blogging, projects, etc.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

    • Bachelor’s Degree from a top college
    • College admissions experience at a top college reviewing and making decisions on college applications
    • 2-3+ years of college counseling experience
    • Great customer service background
    • G-Suite or iOS experience, Microsoft Office
    • Personable with students and parents
    • Excellent communication skills in writing, speaking and presenting
    • Excellent command of the English language
    • A positive “Can Do” attitude
    • Coachable and willing to continue to learn and adapt as necessary
    • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential situations with objectivity
