    SUMMARY

    The Network Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure components such as network switches, routers, wireless access points, and peripherals at our client’s sites as directed by the designated Team Lead and Project Manager. The Network Engineer will respond to network alarms and outages, dispatch to remote sites for troubleshooting and repairs as well as document network infrastructure, resolve trouble tickets, and document the root cause of network issues.  This position reports to the Service Delivery Executive and will work closely with other members of the technology department to support all technology at our client’s sites.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Set up, configure, install and troubleshoot network switches similar to Cisco, Dell, Fortinet, etc. and other network components to support all aspects of the day-to-day operations
    • Perform day-to-day administration and operational functions of the network environment
    • Monitor the network, collecting and preparing statistical data for analysis on network performance and availability (monitoring of network device logs, monitoring of port statistics)
    • Documentation of Procedures / Networking environment (ensure that all network documentation is accurate and up to date)
    • Document issue resolution using the helpdesk ticketing systems
    • Management of hardware images and configuration backups
    • Review, test, and apply security patches and functionality updates
    • Submit Requests for change forms when needed
    • Participate in Change Advisory Board meetings
    • Maintain excellent communication with all end-users and other members of the technology department
    • Assist other team members in executing various project tasks
    • Work with hardware break/fix vendor as needed
    • Execute other assigned tasks as delegated by the Client, Project Manager, and Team Lead

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Five or more years of hands-on experience with Routing and Switching Technologies
    • Palo Alto and Firewall experience
    • Familiarity with network architecture and protocols
    • Troubleshooting in a layer 3 networked environment
    • Ability to recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner using industry best practices and procedures
    • Cisco certifications (i.e., CCENT, Network+, CCNA) knowledge of at least one or more network operating systems (LAN or WAN)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Results-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of IT projects
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • A Drug Screen will be required
