Job Summary
We are seeking a talented, compassionate & efficient Veterinarian Technician to join our team at County Line Animal Hospital! Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care & client education, and monitoring animal recovery. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. We are a small animal hospital in a charming setting on the banks of the DuPage River in Naperville, IL. We have educated clientele, a dedicated staff, and exceptional equipment (endoscopy, digital radiographs, ultrasound, in-house lab, and more). We have traditional hours (M-F 8-6, Sat 8-12p) with no emergency hours; we are locally owned and have been at our location for 50 years!
Please apply only if you are friendly, empathetic, have a strong work ethic, are punctual, and can work well with other team members! Must be able to lift 40#. Candidates should be able to run labwork (bloodwork, urinalyses, ear cytologies, etc.) (or should be able & want to learn quickly) and also be able to help place IV catheters, monitor anesthetized patients, prep and intubate patients, help with appointments, and more. Experience with animal restraint and vet tech skills is necessary. Schedule is negotiable as we can adjust current schedules somewhat. Full time employees typically work 4 weekdays and rotating Saturdays.

Responsibilities
Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic
Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history
Take vital signs and acquire blood samples
Assist with surgeries and monitor animals after surgery
Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients
Keep accurate patient records
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role
Knowledge of animal care and handling
Excellent communication skills
Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
Patience and a love for animals
