    Senator International Freight Forwarding is looking for an IMPORT/EXPORT COORDINATOR to join our growing team in Carson, CA.

    The Import/Export Coordinator will facilitate the accurate and timely movement of customer's international shipments, from origin to destination, complying with internal and external requirements and providing first-class service to clients.

    GOALS:

    • Follow the Manager/Supervisor's lead on offering more of our services to existing client base.
    • Contribute to the department's efforts on taking action to RETAIN our existing customer base.
    • Effectively communicate with carriers.
    • Utilize the selected carriers that best suit the service and cost requirements of our shipments as instructed by the Supervisor and/or Manager.
    • Constantly update knowledge to perform at peak level.
    • Effectively, neatly, timely, and accurately perform daily work.
    • Display courtesy and attention to our internal and external customers.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Handle shipments from and to door regardless of mode of transportation or shipping direction.
    • Tracking, tracing, and updating the status of shipments on a daily basis.
    • Build close and strong relationships with our customers, overseas agents, and service providers.
    • Conduct daily correspondence with overseas offices, customers, air and truck carriers, US customs, etc.
    • Work closely with Origin and Destination Departments to deliver First Class levels of service to client.
    • Adhere to all shipping regulations (DOT,IATA, IMO).
    • Coordination of any and all government agency processes.
    • Effective supervision of Hazardous Materials handling whenever applicable.
    • Assist and or back up with the other members of staff when volumes are lower, or help is needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in import/export freight forwarding.
    • Cargowise experience preferred.
    • Positive attitude, dependable, and adaptable.
    • Basic math skills and computer skills.
    • Excellent communication skills and exceptional customer service skills.
    • Highly organized, ability to multi-task, and adaptable to change.
    • Efficient, adaptable, excellent follow through and a team player.
