    Position Summary:

    The Senior Accountant provides accounting and reporting support for Mercury One, LLC and The Nazarene Fund Global, Inc. Responsibilities include various aspects of the monthly close, annual audit, tax returns, and financial internal controls as well as continued improvements to current internal financial processes.     Key Responsibilities:

    · Maintain various accounts and ledgers ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and nonprofit accounting practices

    · Ensure complete and compliant closing of books, including preparation of journal entries on a daily basis

    · Reconcile bank accounts monthly for multiple accounts

    · Import Revenue from Database gifts/donations

    · Analyze revenue import vs. the journal entry and make corrections if needed

    · Report on and reconcile investment funds managed by management

    · Ensure daily posting of deposits, including gifts, as well as all other account and ledger maintenance, such as maintaining fixed assets ledgers

    · Review and approve AP subledgers prior to posting

    · Back-up to accounts payable and cash disbursements

    · Assist Controller with preparing monthly and annual consolidated financial statements

    · Assist Controller and outsourced accounting team with analysis of financial results to identify, explain, and correct variances as needed

    · Assist with the external audit process as requested by Controller and outsourced accounting firm and external auditors

    · Assist in the preparation of various tax returns including the Form 990

    · Assist in maintaining proper internal financial controls within the organization

    · Special projects as assigned

    Supervisory responsibilities if applicable: None

    Travel required if applicable: May from time to time

    Skills and Qualifications:

    · Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business required

    · 5+ years of professional-level experience, including experience with financial accounting

    · Experience in non-profits preferred

    · Demonstrates keen analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities

    · Proficient with Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)

    · Blackbaud experience a plus+

    · QuickBooks Online experience a plus+

    · Intrinsic motivation to meet deadlines

    · Ability to work and interact with departments throughout an organization

    · Ability to work and interact with external vendors, auditors, financial institutions and brokers

    · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

    · Strong attention to detail and financial information

    · Ability to track multiple projects and funds simultaneously, including follow-up on changes to projects/funds

    Physical Requirements and Work Environment

    · Regularly works in standard office conditions and climate

    · Regularly works at a computer screen for extended periods of time and occasionally move around several facilities

    · Ability to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs.

    · Regularly works in a dynamic environment, effectively dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts

    · Stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions
