SENIOR GROUND MAN — TREE REMOVAL/SERVICES GROUND CREW

Role/Purpose

Senior Ground Man serves as a lead ground technician, supporting climbers and helping guide less experienced crew members while maintaining high safety and productivity standards.

Core Responsibilities

Lead brush and cleanup operations

Operate chipper as primary ground operator

Assist with rigging operations and load control

Direct ground crew movements during cutting operations

Train and mentor entry-level ground men

Assist with traffic control setup and teardown

Safety Expectations

Enforce PPE compliance on the ground

Monitor drop zones and communicate with climbers

Identify hazards and correct unsafe behavior

Equipment Authorization

Chainsaws (ground use)

Chipper (lead operator)

Rigging equipment (support role)

Vehicle Driver

Equipment Operator
