    SeqMatic is a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and "omics" service provider based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The company was founded in 2012 by former Illumina R&D scientists who are experts in the field of NGS and related bioinformatics.

    We specialize in Illumina NGS products, 10X Single Cell and Parse Bio RNA-Seq, as well as custom sequencing services with fast turnaround times. Our lab is CLIA and CAP certified. We are expanding our capabilities beyond RUO to support Clinical Trials for our Clients, in addition to incorporating novel technologies such as Proteomics and Spatial Transcriptomics.

    About the Opportunity

    SeqMatic is looking for an Inside Technical Sales Specialist to join our team in Fremont, CA. Our ideal candidate has the following key characteristics: taking responsibility customer accounts; understanding customers' technical and business requirements; issuing quotes; prospecting, nurturing, and closing the sale; matching quotes to purchase orders; and communicating status of projects from receipt to completion.

    Key characteristics and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

    Hunter: Identify and make outbound contact to existing and potential customers to find sales opportunities, via email, phone and V-meetings.

    Sales process: Manage and qualify sales leads to understanding the customer’s scientific, business requirements and competitive situation.

    Technical: Create quotations that match SeqMatic service offerings to customers’ needs.

    Tenacity: Pursue and close sales orders; match final quotes with incoming purchase orders.

    Manage customer relationships post-sale, including a strategy to develop long term business relationships.

    Responsive: Answer technical inquiries and / or provide updates to the clients regarding the status of their submissions.

    Attention to detail: Log all activities in the CRM

    Perform other duties as required.

    Qualification Requirements:

    Strong Genetics and Molecular Biology foundation to allow for a better understanding of the broad variation of NGS and customer applications in order to uncover sales potential.

    Tenacity and innate desire to win.

    1+ years of experience in a Life Science laboratory, NGS Sales role, Technical Support role or a related field with customer-facing experience.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to effectively communicate a resolution to customer service issues as they arise.

    Conduct presentations effectively and professionally to customers, peers, and management.

    Preferred knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing methods, especially Illumina and 10X Genomics.

    Self-motivated and eager to learn and develop skills beyond this role into areas such as field sales, tech support, and project management.

    Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

    Prior experience in a sales or service environment using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system a plus.
