Disaster Reconstruction Services is looking for Construction Project Estimator/Manager
Summary
The Construction Estimator/Manager is responsible for managing a wide range of functions necessary to obtain and successfully execute construction projects. They are responsible for ensuring a high quality of service in all dealings with customers, clients, subcontractors, and resource providers involved in construction services. They are also responsible for managing a wide range of functions necessary to successfully obtain, bid and price construction projects. They are responsible for ensuring an accurate scope of work is created, delivering a consistent and complete estimate, and maintaining a high quality of service in all dealings with customers, clients, and resource providers involved in construction services.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
a. Establish customer relationship for construction services.
b. Educate customer on the construction process.
c. Work with customers to understand desired upgrades/changes.
d. Ensure that estimates meet client requirements.
a. Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project.
b. Create an accurate sketch and initial scope of work for construction projects.
c. Deliver a consistent and well-defined initial estimate.
d. Recognize project constraints and/or needed upgrades.
e. Work with Construction Manager to price bid items, if needed.
f. Evaluate and sell projects.
g. Educate customers on construction process.
a. Identify and document finalized project scope of work
b. Create and Review estimates.
c. Obtain customer and client agreement on scope and estimate
d. Work with outside resources as necessary to complete accurate estimates (i.e., Structural Engineers, ITEL, Electrical Inspectors, etc.).
e. Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates.
f. Deliver and Communicate estimate to Construction Manager
g. Set draw schedule for project
h. Enter and issue invoices for draws as needed
i. Communicate with Construction Manager and maintain data for potential supplies, billing and forms
j. Communicate with Construction Manager and with adjustor/owner to secure approvals
k. Produce proposal for work in Buildertrend software
a. Compile data for any items outside original scope and create supplemental budget
b. Send proposal compilation information to adjustor/owner (get from CM)
c. Secure adjustment approval of supplemental billing & release of RCV
Necessary Experience and Skill Set
Previous construction estimating/management experience
Superb customer service track record
Effective written and oral communication
Intermediate math skills
Experience in restoration and/or construction preferred
Tech able
Neat Appearance
Must have a valid driver license and a good driving record
Must be able to pass a background check
Formal Education/Training
High school diploma/GED
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Walking and/or standing throughout the day. Frequent driving and sitting. Occasionally climbing ladders. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions such as heat. The noise level at individual jobsites can be loud.
Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements
This is a full-time position, working 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week. This position frequently requires long hours. Travel is required and is primarily local. However, some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Salary $50,000 - $65,000 DOE
