In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in supporting franchise development, refining estimate practices, and managing large-scale commercial projects. Responsibilities Commercial Loss Estimating • Provide professional estimating services for specific commercial losses. • Review project documentation provided by customers or clients. • Conduct site visits when necessary. • Communicate with the Commercial Reconstruction Superintendent as required. Documentation and Reporting • Document and report findings based on industry standards or personal experience. • Provide detailed, line-item scope and estimates for uncertain project elements. • Identify and document general project requirements and constraints. Project Management and Scoping • Divide projects into manageable sections for effective scope management. • Document dimensions, diagrams, and images of each room or section. • Identify and document all tasks to be performed in each room or section. • Document any exclusions from the scope of work. • Discuss the scope of work with the customer. Estimate Creation and Proposal • Review project requirements, such as National Account bulletins, insurance company requirements, and local agreements. • Create project estimates using an agreed-upon estimating platform. • Send bid requests for specific subcontracted work when necessary. • Compile and submit project proposal packets. Experience and Skill Set • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in claims management and/or estimating. • Proficiency in Xactimate® and SERVPRO Time and Materials (T&M) is advantageous. • Extensive experience in estimating large, complex commercial projects. • Ability to travel extensively by automobile and/or airplane; must have a valid driver’s license. • Intermediate problem-solving skills, including scoping, general constraints, and project management. • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on project management, building codes, and documentation. Education/Training • High school diploma/GED (Required) • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements: This is a full-time position, working 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, 45 hours per week, however we are a 24/7/365 emergency service vendor and you may frequently be required to work longer hours, be on-call, and/or work weekends as needed. Travel is required and is primarily local. However, some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
