    SES Group of Companies is growing! We are seeking a talented Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to join the Herman Construction Group, Inc (HGC) team, a subsidiary of SGC. In this critical role, you'll perform safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections, site safety orientation, activity-specific training, and ensure enforcement. The ideal candidate will have experience with The United States Army Corps of Engineering EM 385-1-1 Health and Safety Requirements Manual and OSHA regulations. Project Scope of Work/Location: Travis Air Force Base (Fairfield, CA). 1,851 SF addition to the existing fuel cell maintenance hangar, Building B14, at the South-East corner at Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, CA (365 calendar days) Responsibilities: • Conduct daily safety and health inspections, and maintain a written log that includes the date of inspection, area/operation inspected, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, and estimated and actual dates of corrections. • Attach safety inspection logs to the Contractors' daily quality control report. • Maintain the OSHA Form 300 and Daily Production reports for prime and sub-contractors. • Conduct mishap investigations and complete required reports. • Oversee field crew and provide safety material reference on the job site. • Attend the pre-construction conference, and pre-work meetings including preparatory inspection meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings. • Implement and enforce accepted APPs and AHA's • Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution, then post a list of unresolved safety and health deficiencies on the site safety bulletin board • Ensure sub-contractor compliance with safety and health requirements • Keep a list of hazardous chemicals on-site and their material safety data sheet Qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in supervising/managing safety programs, maintained competency through 8 hours of documented formal safety coursework per year • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Effective leadership abilities, including time management, delegation, prioritizing, and multitasking • Successfully pass a federal background check to obtain a security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • OSHA 30-hour, EM-385-1 40-hour training is a plus • Additional Construction Safety Related Training is a plus Compensation: $90,000
