Heavy Equipment Operator - Primary job site locations are in and around Los Alamos NM but work may be needed elsewhere such as our Rio Rancho location, commuting will be required.

Duties:

-Ability to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency in challenging and unique terrain environments.

-Operate various types of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, dump trucks, loaders, forklifts, and skidsteer.

-Perform building demolition, debris sorting, loading, trenching, and site clean-up using heavy equipment.

-Conduct daily pre and post-job inspections and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.

-Follow safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery, maintain strict safety standards, and communicate daily with site Safety Representatives.

-Assist in various job-site tasks required throughout the day.

-Wear personal protective equipment such as hard hats, vests, safety glasses, safety toe boots, hearing protection and fall protection, respirators, etc. as needed.

Qualifications: ****
-Prior experience operating heavy equipment, specifically excavators (5+years)

-Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and field repairs.

-Ability to read and interpret plans and job documents.

-Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

-Good vision, both close-up and long-distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment.

This position is full-time, Monday through Thursday (four 10-hour workdays) but may occasionally require overtime and/or weekend work. Full-time benefits are included after a brief probation period.

Training will be required at the start of and throughout employment, we are looking for an applicant who is willing to learn the additional skill sets needed to move up within the company.

This position requires many physical demands such as lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, working outside in inclement weather conditions, and walking long distances on uneven terrain. Proper PPE will be provided to ensure all safety requirements are met.

Additional Qualifications:

Previous operator/demolition experience (Minimum 5 years).

Valid Driver's License, satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR required), and reliable transportation.

Due to the nature and location of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Ability to pass a federal background check.

Applicants must pass a pre-job drug screen.

Based on experience level $24.00 - $35.00 per hour
