    The Director of Financial Operations, Membership, and Sponsorships (Director) is responsible for assisting with implementing the chapter’s mission and goals, assisting with the daily activities and overall administration of chapter operations. The Director must possess highly developed interpersonal communication and financial skills, and a demonstrated capacity to build and maintain relationships with diverse communities, chapter volunteers and employees, organizations, government, media and other interests. The Director must also be skilled in project management and supervision, financial operations, and must report to and work in coordination with the CED, and handle any other duties as assigned.

    The Director is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with the membership, the CAI national staff, allied organizations and others in furthering the chapter’s mission.

    Duties Finance:

    Under the direction of the board president and treasurer, directs the financial affairs of the association; prepares financial statements, records and reports; works with board to develop annual budget.

    Pays invoices, such as rent, utilities, etc.

    Ensure an accurate accounting and reporting system and sound asset management.

    Handle chapter finances in the completion of the following tasks:

    Preparing and emailing invoices; collecting and depositing all chapter receivables; maintaining receivables aging information.

    Maintaining accounts payable files.

    Preparing checks for the appropriate chapter officer to approve and sign.

    Preparing all information and scanning appropriate documentation necessary to create chapter financial reports.

    Approve purchases up to $1,000 within the chapter budget; request approval for purchases over $1,000.

    Prepare monthly financial reports for inclusion in monthly Board report

    Prepare documents and reports for the annual audit and tax filings.

    Sponsorships:

    Cultivates existing and potential sponsors.

    Promote, secure and process sponsorships.

    Implements annual sponsorship benefit packages.

    Schedules in-person and/or phone meetings with existing sponsors and potential sponsors

    Board Support:

    Collect and distribute designated committee reports prepared by chairs as appropriate to the CED (e.g., Membership Committee, Social Committee, Education Committee, and Communications Committee**)

    Prepare monthly Director report.

    Prepare monthly financial reports

    Event Support and Coordination:

    Logging event registrations, and sponsorships, and maintaining files.

    Preparing and distributing invoices, collecting and depositing receivables, and reporting

    financial and attendance results.

    Prepare proforma event P& L and attendance reports.

    Attend all chapter events.

    Designated Committee Support and Related Fundraising:

    Support and assist committee chair and attend committee meetings of the following committees: Membership Committee, Social Committee, Education Committee, and Communications Committee, and related event fund raising efforts.

    Assist with budget development and event promotion

    Member Support:

    Respond promptly to inquiries; assist with member communication.

    Maintain current membership roster information both local chapter and national databases, and service directory.

    Working with the Membership Committee, assists in directing and administering programs to attract new members and retain existing members.

    Oversees an accurate and up-to-date chapter member database; coordinates member updates/corrections with CAI National database.

    Education:

    Helps develop and administer education programs for members specific to the organization.

    Follows up with speakers with confirmation letters, and bios, intros, course materials, and PowerPoints for all education events, including CA Day, Legal & Legislative Update, and other educational programs
