OVERVIEW
S.H.A.R.E. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORP is a Houston, Texas-based startup developer and builder of multifamily apartment communities featuring 1, 2, and 3 bedroom 4plexes and 8plexes. We are on the cusp of explosive growth and seek an entrepreneurial leader in human resources to be the "founding member" of the division and take it from 0 to 100. We are currently seeking a personable and strategic Director of Human Resource Business Partner to help us with our growth plans.
As the Human Resource Business Partner & Talent Acquisition Recruiter, you will research, develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for S.C.D.C. Houston. The successful candidate is an expert in the field, with the broad capability in all areas of HR programs, but not limited to compensation, benefits, payroll, staffing, talent acquisition, organizational development, employee relations, and performance management.
The role supports full lifecycle delivery of the organization’s talent strategy – orientation, training and development, performance, and succession. Specifically, s/he is responsible for the planning and execution of training programs, talent review and succession planning, talent assessment, coaching, leadership, and development planning.
Reporting directly to the President/Founder, the individual will provide strategic guidance across all departments. You should be a proactive communicator and change agent, someone who can successfully balance employee needs with business objectives to create integrated solutions. Acting as a trusted advisor, this individual will engage closely with the President/Founder to provide human resources, administrative support, operational efficiency, creative input, and to align talent while enhancing our business strategy.

HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
STARTUP & ORGANIZATION INITIAL STAFFING
- Develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of talent acquisition and management.
- Identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria
- Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization
- Implement and manage job posting and advertising processes
- Screens applications and selects qualified candidates
- Schedule interviews; oversee preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials
- Conduct the interview process and narrow candidates to present to President/Founder
- Manage all employee recruitment activities, interviews, hires and trains new staff in the company.
- Manage the recruiting and talent data analytics
- Collaborate with President/Founder before and during the offer process, researching and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details
HUMAN RESOURCES
- Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
- Develop & Manage new employee onboarding process.
- Develop & Maintain company handbook.
- Develops and implements departmental budget.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Administer periodic employee engagement surveys.
- Develop and Assist with Diversity & Inclusion strategy and planning.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly company newsletter from an HR perspective.
- Maintain the compliance of records management for all personnel-related data
- Handle discipline and termination of employees per company policy.
- Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; escalated disputes and EEOC investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and occupational health and safety.
- Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Administer EXIT and STAY interviews and report results to President/Founder.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Respond to any reasonable task assigned by the President/Founde
QUALIFICATIONS
HERE ARE THE EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS YOU WILL NEED:
GENERAL:
- US work authorization Required
- Knowledge of human resources principles, processes, and best practices
- Excellent working knowledge of HR policies, laws, and regulations
- Possess good organizational development and change management skills
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and present data insights
REQUIRED PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
- At least 5 years of recruiting and HR experience
- 5+ years of experience in organizational development, performance management, or HR management required.
PREFERRED PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
- At least ten years of human resource management experience is preferred
- Typically 10+ of business partner experience with significant senior management influence.
· Residential Construction recruiting experience a strong plus
- Track record of establishing/contributing to creative solutions in the areas of talent management, development and retention, including employee value proposition enhancement, high potential identification and succession planning
- Ability to work/communicate effectively with, persuade, and gain “buy-in” from, a broad range of stakeholders
- Seven or more years of experience in Human Resources and/or Talent Management/Organizational Development, with previous experience managing direct reports.
- Experience with designing and leading Leadership Development & Leadership Alignment programs
HERE ARE THE EDUCATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS YOU WILL NEED:
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a major in HR Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field and alternative education plus 10+ years in the People field including several years of demonstrated leadership experience and capabilities required
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
- Master’s degree preferred.
PREFERRED LICENSES/ CERTIFICATION:
- PHR Certification, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential strongly preferred.
REQUIRED TECHNOLOGY:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook is required (familiarity with Power BI and/or Microsoft Teams is an asset)
- General computer savvy
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required
- Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines with attention to details
- Be able to evaluate and hire personnel, deal with difficult people and be a good leader/mentor
- Be able to effectively handle a large workload, manage staff meetings and training programs.
- Ability to effectively manage a medium budget with minimal supervision needed
- High degree of professionalism and business ethics.
- Strong supervisory, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of human resources principles, processes, and best practices
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Residential Construction recruiting experience a strong plus

- Superior ability to provide HR consultation regarding talent and performance management, talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, HR policies, etc.
