Registered Nurse - Manager Infection Prevention
Summary
The RN Manager, Infection Prevention will promote the vision and mission of Sharp HealthCare to create a culture of safety and quality. The Infection Prevention manager will direct, coordinate and manage a campus-wide Infection Prevention Program for Sharp Grossmont Hospital, Grossmont Women’s Center, Grossmont Surgery and Infusion centers, Home Infusion and Central Pharmacy Services, Behavioral Health, LTC, Rehabilitation Centers and Facilities and Construction Services.
The Manager will provide advanced professional and clinical leadership direction on all infection prevention matters across the campus. The Manager will work in partnership with Executives, Nurse Managers, Physician partners and other key stakeholders to define and clarify the strategic direction and operational plan for infection prevention control and communicate a shared vision. Responsibilities include administering and evaluating standards to prevent Hospital Acquired Infections and ensuring services are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements, maintaining an expert and motivated staff through proper selection, training, coaching and evaluating, establishing and assessing annual performance goals. The Manager will develop and oversee department budget and manage in a cost-effective manner by accurately forecasting budgetary and staffing needs and managing expenses within budgetary constraints.
The Manager will identify, investigate, record and communicate data concerning healthcare associated infections, epidemiologically significant organisms and state reportable diseases. The Manager, Infection Prevention serves as NHSN administrator.
The Infection Prevention and Clinical Epidemiology team at Sharp Grossmont Hospital includes Hospital Epidemiologists and Infection Preventionists. The Infection Prevention department ensures proper infection control precautions are in place, works on improving infection control risk assessment processes and also addresses non-compliance.
