About the Role:

Join the Warwick Valley Humane Society as a Shelter Manager/Animal Control Officer, where you will play a vital role in the care and management of our animal shelter. Be part of a dedicated team that is passionate about animal welfare and making a difference in the community.

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of the shelter, ensuring the well-being of all animals.

Manage staff and volunteer schedules, providing training and support.

Coordinate animal intake, adoption processes, and public outreach programs.

Enforce local animal control laws and regulations, including responding to calls for assistance.

Maintain accurate records of animal health, adoptions, and shelter activities.

Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance shelter operations.

Work closely with veterinarians to ensure proper medical care for animals.

Engage with the community to promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare initiatives.

Requirements:

Proven experience in animal shelter management or animal control.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for community engagement.

Knowledge of animal care, behavior, and welfare standards.

Valid driver's license and ability to obtain animal control certifications.

Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to animal welfare.

Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions.

Flexibility to work on call nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
