    Job Summary:

    We are seeking experienced part-time College Admissions Counselors to join our team! We are looking for part-time college counselors for high school students . Previous experience as a college counselor with former admissions officer experience at esteemed universities is essesntial for this position.

    Shine In Math students aim to attend colleges that provide extensive opportunities in the fields of their academic interest. The College Counselors that we are looking for will help high school students through the college admissions process including creating academic and extracurricular road maps, profile building, providing college application structure and feedback, assisting with discovering their passion and help identify a career path.

    Responsibilities:

    Create a comprehensive counseling road map customized to each student

    Being up to date with the college admissions process and requirements

    Keep up to date with current college admission changes.

    Advise students on extra curricular activities and leadership roles

    Guide students with summer plans such as internships and research opportunities

    Identify a standardized testing plan including an appropriate test for each student

    Identify, create and rate a customized college list for each student.

    Help create a personal statement and resume, gather recommendation letters, review and edit essays and reviewing the applications

    Establish a plan for early action, early decision and regular decision

    Provide financial aid and merit scholarship resources

    Maintain and record student progress periodically following the guidelines set forth by the Academy

    Communicate with parents, teachers, and the Academy administrators of the student progress

    Qualifications:

    Prior experience as an admissions officer

    Prior experience as a Guidance Counselor

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Master’s degree in relevant areas with counseling credentials

    Being able to commit to work with the assigned students over multiple years in their high school career
