  • Responsibilities

    The Systems Administrator will support employees and customers through the implementation and operation of end user technologies, cloud infrastructure and usable Information Security solutions. Acting as the first line of support, the Systems Administrator will ensure all employees have the technologies, tools and services to productively perform their function. This will include deployment of computers, software and collaborative services that are critical to employee success. Additionally, the role will work collaboratively with team members to support the company’s AWS based platform in a junior capacity, with opportunities to increase responsibilities as the platform grows and evolves.

    Job Responsibilities:

      • Procure, configure and deploy end user technologies to support employees
      • Act as a first point of contact for employee technology needs
      • In collaboration with HR, develop and perform IT onboarding programs and processes
      • Respond to and resolve operational events, with a focus on system availability, security and continuous improvement
      • Contribute to Information Security compliance efforts through development and execution of streamlined and repeatable processes
      • Implement operational and monitoring tools and technologies
      • Administer components of the AWS platform and perform scheduled tasks and maintenance
      • Proactively manage resource utilization and capacity

    Work Environment:

      • The position reports directly to the VP of Technology
      • An ability to collaborate, discuss, contribute and work with teams is a must
      • The team is geographically distributed and use of virtual technologies is used to keep the team connected
      • Employees are empowered and encouraged to lead with independence

    Experience Required:

      • 2+ years experience directly supporting end users in a fast paced, software development focused environment
      • Advanced knowledge of operating systems, end user hardware and operational ticketing systems
      • 1+ years performing basic AWS / cloud operations and familiarity with AWS and cloud technologies in general
      • 1+ years working with IP, network and security configurations, preferably in a cloud environment
      • Time spent focusing on customer service and satisfaction
      • 1+ years administering Linux based systems
      • 1+ years of scripting and automation experience
      • 2+ years of responding to tickets, incidents and events in a 24x7 operational environment
      • Attention to detail, sense of urgency, ability to meet deadlines, excellent organizational skills and a proactive personality are required for success
      • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
      • Able to compile and analyze data to develop metrics that support decision making for operational improvement
      • Solid customer service acumen and ability to work both independently and with others
      • Effective time management, organization and support skills

    Experience Preferred:

      • Experience working within AWS and AWS supporting services, specifically security services, such as RDS, EC2, AWS Backup, AWS Systems Manager, AWS CloudWatch and AWS GuardDuty.
      • Familiarity with security and privacy standards such as ISO 27001, SSAE-18, GDPR, etc. ITIL, cloud, networking or security certifications are a bonus, as is knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
