    The College of Arts and Sciences at Shenandoah University, a private, comprehensive university located 70 miles northwest of Washington, D.C., is seeking to build a pool of persons qualifies to teach within the Department of Exercise Science.

    The Exercise Science Department at Shenandoah University is a growing program within the College of Arts & Sciences and works closely with graduate health professions programs such as Athletic Training, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy. The Department emphasizes critical thinking, written communication skills, and application of theory and research for evidenced-based practice. The Department continues to improve laboratory space and resources in order to promote experiential learning and student research opportunities.

    Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in the current Exercise Science curriculum as the need arises.  Primary areas of specialty needed include Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Sport Nutrition, Care and Treatment of Athletic Injury.

    Required Skills

    Qualifications: Master’s Degree with 18 graduate credits in area of teaching.  Candidates with NSCA and/or ACSM certification are preferred. 

    Note: A pre-employment background check will be required as a condition of employment.  If driving on University business is a requirement of the position, an acceptable driving record is required as well.
