  • Responsibilities

    WaferTech is seeking a Facilities Operation and Maintenance Technician to join our Mechanical team.  The Mechanical Section in responsible for Boilers, Chillers, HVAC, Air Handlers, Exhaust and Abatement systems, Vacuum Systems, and Process Cooling Water (PCW) at WaferTech.  You would be directly responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment on a daily basis.  This is a 12hr/day shift with a compressed work week.

     

    In addition to daily operations, the Mechanical Technician will also be responsible for participating in construction and commissioning of continuous improvement projects for the facility.

     

    Perform daily operations to include taking rounds, completing shift passdown, reviewing trend data, responding to system alarms, receiving chemical deliveries, and maintaining area 5S.  Complete written and on the job (OJT) training as directed.

     

    Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance on equipment using written procedures, O&M manuals, drawings, and diagrams.

     

    Assist in construction and commissioning of continuous improvement projects when assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Strong professional attitude with safety focus, excellent teamwork skills, self-motivation, and reliability in work execution.
    • Computer skills including MS office and ability to learn new programs specific to the job
    • Ability to read plant and equipment drawings as necessary
    • Mechanical and basic electronic/electrical troubleshooting skills
    • Technical knowledge of mechanical systems is preferred (Boilers, Chillers, HVAC, Air Handlers, Exhaust and Abatement systems, Vacuum Systems, and Process Cooling Water (PCW))
    • Technical knowledge of semiconductor facility maintenance is preferred (pumps, bearings, seals, piping, etc)
    • Must meet physical requirements: i.e. working from ladders, lifting 50# loads, confined space entry, working 12 hr shift which includes recurrent walking with standard breaks, working outside in any conditions, wearing a respirator and other PPE
    • Occasional work in a clean room
    • Ability to work any shift (day or night)
    • Ability to work overtime when requested
    • Ability to be a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT)

    Required Experience

    • Associates degree in related field OR 60 United States military credits in a related field is required OR 4-6 years directly related experience.
