    This position is a full-time 12-month position. The candidate will plan and coordinate use of the facility and scheduling of special events at the Herrett Center for Arts & Science.  The candidate will work with educators in coordinating school field trips and activities. The candidate oversees the Herrett Center Membership program. This position requires early morning, evening, and weekend hours.  Responsibilities include:

    1. Schedules and coordinates special events in the Rick Allen Room for college and non-college entities which may include arranging or coordinating refreshments, furniture set-ups, audio-visual services, etc.
    2. Coordinates and schedules public and private school groups for all Herrett programs including the museum, observatory, art gallery, and planetarium.
    3. Oversees membership program and records.
    4. Coordinates the marketing and public relations efforts for the Herrett Center facilities by disseminating information, actively promoting, and encouraging the use of the Herrett Center to as wide an audience as possible.
    5. Assists in the distribution of promotional literature to teachers and school administrators pertaining to the Herrett educational programs.
    6. Generates revenue for the College/Herrett Center.
    7. Serves as secretary and marketing liaison to the Herrett Forum Committee.
    8. Assists with exhibits as needed
    9. Become conversant with the inner workings of the Herrett Center to allow effective communication of museum functions with the general public.
    10. Maintains professional expertise appropriate to meet the requirements of the job.  
    11. Maintains open communications regarding resources, priorities, and expectations.
    12. Develops and maintains cooperative internal and external relationships, partnerships and networks that help advance the mission of the Herrett Center.

    Required Experience

    Prefer bachelor's degree. Salary posted correlates to those without a bachelor's degree. 

    Experience: Event planning and managing. Booking reservations for large groups.
