    The Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University is a comprehensive music school offering the Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Arts in Music and Master of Music degrees.  Areas of study include instrumental, vocal, and opera performance, music theatre, music education, composition, conducting, vocal coaching, music business and church music.  Possible teaching assignments include applied music and classroom teaching in music theory, music history, music education as well as other specialized music course work.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Master of Music required; terminal degree preferred.  For applied music positions, applicants with significant professional experience in lieu of academic credentials will be considered.  Three years of university level teaching experience preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    This faculty position requires a music professional capable of sustained physical activity and the ability to demonstrate required technique. Requires frequent standing, walking and sitting. Repetitious finger and wrist movement, and hearing faculty. Occasionally requires lifting and carrying. Constantly requires speaking clearly, both seeing near, far and with depth perception. Work includes applied music courses in performance spaces. In performance spaces, lighting levels vary from total darkness to full stage lighting. Work in performance spaces requires the ability to move quickly from audience to stage areas which are at different levels. There is long exposure to theater and studio sound equipment volume levels. Work hours are varied from early morning academic and applied courses to evening and weekend hours in rehearsals and performances.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES_ _

    • Assisting with the development of product design and functionality, addressing customer requirements and specifications
    • Detailing, documenting, and maintaining required product design manuals and standards used in daily operational activities including Manufacturing Engineering Standards (MES) and Engineering Change Notifications (ECN)
    • Identifying and recommending corrective action for any issues with product design
    • Analyzing elements of new design concepts or processes and assessing feasibility and effectiveness; making appropriate recommendations to management
    • Analyzing test data and reports to determine if product design meets functional and performance standards and specifications, as well as having overall business viability
    • Designing and giving guidance to the construction of test products sent to outside lab test centers; will interface with lab staff as required
    • Using engineering test results to assess possible alternate uses of the technology or product design
    • Interfacing with others within the organization, as well as customers, to jointly identify customer needs and feasible solutions
    • Providing manufacturing support to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality and application of the design; gives guidance on prototype assemblies as well
    • Engaging in failure analysis, determining appropriate corrective action and ensuring release of all affected staff and departments
    • Providing consultation to outside vendors or subcontractors for proper application and use of product
    • Fulfilling the financial control and risk management responsibilities inherent in the position
    • Conducting yourself in accordance with the Company Code of Ethics policy at all times
