    ***THIS IS A REMOTE FIELD POSITION. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL WORK OUT OF THEIR HOME AND CAN BE BASED IN ANY OF THE CITIES MENTIONED IN THIS POSTING. THEY WILL HAVE ACCESS TO A MAJOR AIRPORT THAT WILL ALLOW FOR REGULAR BUSINESS TRAVEL.

    POSITION SUMMARY:  This position has primary responsibility for supporting and implementing sales programs within the Transport Logistics Automation Sales Team to ensure the highest level of budget accomplishment (revenue and expenses). Success will be achieved through sales leadership and coordination of available sales personnel and resources.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:    

    STRATEGIC SALES PLANNING

    • Provide leadership to executive the strategic growth plan within defined scope 
    • Provide leadership to ensure sales outcomes through effective sales management
    • Develop and execute annual budget and Midterm Plan 
    • Forecast business outlook based on opportunity management

    SALES MANAGEMENT

    • Manage, coach, and develop a team of direct sales employees and other sales resources as appropriate
    • Execute on strategic growth plan
    • Use CRM system for all customer and sales process data to ensure proper documentation and retention. Ensure all sales people utilize CRM
    • Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate groups in AG and PCA
    • Keep abreast of and monitor market and competitor activity; adjust marketing strategy, and recommend client base expansions as appropriate
    • Provide leadership to implement a strategic growth plan to achieve corporate objectives to achieve significant market share gains in line with company expectations
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

    SALES ACTIVITIES

    • Achieve gross margin goals within the limits of DOA
    • Use CRM for all sales process data and ensure utilization across team
    • Collaborate with marketing department and MPM
    • Participate in West Coast professional organizations aligned with TL Sales Initiatives i.e. Silicon Valley Robotics
    • Support investigation into additional customer needs and opportunities, leveraging the EoC process facilitated by the Strategic Business Development Group at SICK
    • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required

     QUALIFICATIONS:   

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE_ _

    • Four-year degree with either an academic or experiential orientation to the sales of electronics, mechanics or optics, other industrial controls, and processes or significant relevant work experience.
    • An advanced degree is a plus.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales management

     

    _OTHER QUALIFICATIONS _

    • Experience in identifying market dynamics
    • Able to conduct business travel 40% up to 70% of the time
    • Excellent sales and communication skills 
    • Excellent closing and negotiation skills with the ability to directly support and help close major projects.
    • Excellence understanding of business processes
    • Demonstrated coaching and leadership skills in a multi-channel sales organization with proven, positive results required
    • Ability and willingness to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed 
    • Legally permitted to work in the United States  
    • Ability to work in a general office environment
