    OTR Truck Driver – Greer, SC

    The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of asphalt emulsions and related products while complying with all federal, state, Department of Transportation (DOT), and company regulations. This position requires a dependable, safety-focused professional who takes pride in operating commercial equipment responsibly while representing Blacklidge with professionalism at every customer location.

    This is a fast-paced position requiring excellent communication, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to safety. Drivers work closely with Dispatch, Fleet, Plant Operations, and customers to ensure deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule while providing outstanding customer service.

    Blacklidge's busiest season typically runs from March through October, providing drivers with consistent work opportunities during peak construction season. During the slower winter months, drivers often enjoy greater flexibility for planned time off and may have opportunities for additional off-season driving assignments based on business needs.

    This position is based in Greer, South Carolina and requires regional and over-the-road travel as assigned. The Truck Driver reports directly to the Logistics Manager.

    Responsibilities:

    Transportation & Delivery

    Safely transport asphalt emulsions and related products throughout the assigned service area

    Load, unload, and transfer liquid asphalt products using approved operating procedures

    Complete deliveries accurately, safely, and on schedule while providing exceptional customer service

    Maintain regular communication with Dispatch regarding delivery status, delays, and operational issues

    Complete bills of lading, delivery tickets, inspection reports, and other required transportation documentation accurately and timely

    Safety & Regulatory Compliance

    Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT), FMCSA, Hours of Service (HOS), and company safety regulations

    Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment

    Complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and maintain accurate electronic driver logs

    Immediately report accidents, incidents, mechanical issues, spills, or unsafe conditions

    Maintain all required licenses, endorsements, certifications, and medical qualifications

    Equipment Care & Maintenance

    Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of assigned tractor and trailer

    Report maintenance concerns and coordinate repairs with the Fleet Team

    Assist with minor operational issues when appropriate while ensuring equipment remains safe and compliant

    Support proper care and efficient utilization of company equipment

    Customer Service & Communication

    Represent Blacklidge professionally at customer facilities, terminals, and job sites

    Maintain courteous and professional communication with customers, Dispatch, Fleet, and fellow team members

    Support safe and efficient loading and unloading operations

    Promote a positive customer experience during every delivery

    Teamwork & Continuous Improvement

    Work closely with Dispatch, Fleet, Plant Operations, and fellow drivers to support efficient transportation operations

    Participate in required safety meetings, training, and company initiatives

    Identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and customer service

    Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude while supporting company objectives

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required

    Tanker endorsement required

    Hazmat endorsement preferred or ability to obtain

    TWIC card preferred or ability to obtain

    Commercial driving experience preferred

    Acceptable motor vehicle record

    Ability to safely operate tractor-trailer combinations under varying road and weather conditions

    Ability to safely handle and transport liquid asphalt products

    Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service

    Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, background check, and all applicable pre-employment requirements

    Compensation Competitive driver compensation package earning up to $3,000 per week including:
