    The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for keeping the community clean and safe for residents, staff and visitors by coordinating and directing custodial services.

     Essential Job Functions: MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG SCREENING & BACKGROUND CHECK

    • Monitor residents’ well-being in a general way and report any changes in condition to the appropriate associate/department immediately • Learn resident preferences for opportunities to provide exemplary customer service, exceed resident expectations and enhance resident satisfaction • Work as part of the team within your department and across the community • Effectively supervisor departmental operations on a day-to-day basis under the guidance of the department director or Executive Director • Model a pride of ownership in community appearance • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required • Inspect associates’ work performance to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards • Schedule general cleaning before move-ins and after move-outs as well as on each resident’s annual anniversary move-in date • Coordinate community activities and special events with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner • Investigate complaints about service and equipment, and take corrective action • Plan, schedule, complete, monitor and track ongoing departmental projects (i.e., “Spring Cleaning”, window washing, drapery/curtain cleaning, etc.) • Arrange for additional services, such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment • Ensure that all equipment is routinely checked to ensure that it is in working order • Select the most suitable cleaning materials for different types of linens, furniture, flooring, and surfaces • Order, maintain and control physical inventory of chemicals, paper products and housekeeping/laundry supplies and equipment under the guidance of the department director or Executive Director • Implement operational standards and procedures for the departments supervised • Look for ways to reduce costs and create efficiencies on a daily basis • Conduct departmental planning and forecasting, and fluidly manage operations based on occupancy and economic conditions • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing a name tag when working • Drive process and continuous improvement • Interview, hire, train, manage and retain highly effective associates and create a climate of associate engagement through coaching, mentoring, teambuilding, performance management, recognition and professional development. Identify and develop talent for future succession opportunities • Modify department schedule as needed based on community needs and staffing changes and requests • Assist with managing labor costs and following up with time and attendance issues • Represent the Kisco PVBs and The Art of Living WellSM on a daily basis • Comply at all times with Kisco standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient property operation • Remain updated in changing in OSHA laws and/or other regulatory guidelines pertaining to housekeeping, custodial, and laundry services • Adhere to all regulations, laws and Kisco standards, including the Associate Handbook • Understand and support the community sales process • Perform other related duties as required

    Qualifications and Skills: Education/Experience: • High school graduate; some college preferred • Three to five years’ experience as a supervisor and/or in a housekeeping lead role Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Basic competency in the use of multiple forms of technology, including: Microsoft Office applications, internet-based and custom applications • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed Special Requirements/Certifications: • Technical training or certification (e.g., National Environmental Health Association) is desirable Supervisory Responsibility Responsible for the direct supervision of associates in housekeeping. Through the use of independent judgment, responsibilities include having the authority, in the interest of the employer and under the guidance of the Environmental Services Direct, to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or counsel associates.
