We are located in Irvine CA, but we are in need construction manager in State of Oregon site.
This is for project from May 2023- Feb 2024 tentatively. This position is a temporary position until the completion of the project. Company will provide housing and transportation to the site. After the project is completed, we can award different project in different location.
Construction Manager
Assures the quality and integrity of each project, bringing projects in on schedule and within budget. Using in --house construction management procedures and experience, provide continuity and consistency of construction management with quality assurance and reliable control.
Oversees total construction field effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, specifications, budgets and schedules.
- Work with project manager to plan, organize and direct activities to maximize project efficiency
- Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables
- Work with general contractor/subcontractors to make a project schedule
- Proactively monitor the progress of projects and continuously update schedules to achieve finish dates
- Ability to monitor work progress and report against the plan
- Works with engineering in the design phases to influence the design for optimum constructability
- Supervises all areas on small projects and / or a subset / discipline on larger projects
- Manages and controls project costs and schedule of assigned discipline/ subset of onsite construction. Utilize Commercial processes to capture variations effectively
- Responsible for management and execution of multiple field disciplines or a subset of assigned construction projects in accordance with the requirements of the contract between the company and the client and the general contractor and a accordance with the company's operating policies and principles
- Coordinates field personnel work schedules to maximize utilization and ensure work is delivered on schedule
- Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project
- Manages and controls project schedule of assigned disciplines/ subset of onsite construction
- Management of installation, commissioning and completion activities of materials and equipment
- Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their areas of control
- ensure all workders within their areas of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal and competent manner including any Health and Safety and site-specific inductions
- Initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within their areas of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment and control of risks in accordance with company and client requirements
- Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumable, accommodation and other project-specific requirements, in accordance with contract document specifications.
- Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any issues as required
- Ensure project punch lists are completed to customers / architects' satisfaction
- Document incident reports as necessary
- Initiate and maintain communications with general contractor/subcontractors to expedite project
- Provide direction to on-site general contractor/subcontract crews to ensure project is completed to specification
- Facilitate and document progress meetings
- Trouble shoot and resolve problems involving coordination and productivity
- Interpret plans and contracted requirements to subcontractors onsite
- Review shop drawings for compliance to the plans and specifications
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or electric engineering
- OSHA Certificate, Prefer OSHA 30
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Appropriate level of field construction experience, typically gained through a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant industry, preferably in fuel cell industry
- Hands-on experience with water resources / gas and electricity utilities
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Be self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks daily
- Excellent time manager with superb follow-up skills
- Effective leadership for managing construction management activities
Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
- Strong computer skills, experience w/MS Windows Office, Primavera P6, etc.
