    Exiting opportunity to join an amazing and innovative service provider.  The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including but not limited too; interviewing, Hiring, and Onboarding Regular and Temp staff, administering pay, benefits, internal investigations and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.  This position will also review and input payroll into the HRIS system and work with the third-party payroll administrator. The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management.  This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.  

    HR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Performs general secretarial admin duties such as: Answers and transfers phone calls, screening when necessary.
    • Performs other general clerical and secretarial duties as requested, which may include recordkeeping, managing petty cash, maintaining office supplies and coordinating equipment maintenance, and handling packages and correspondence.
    • Performs Internal investigations
    • Draft and review policies and procedures
    • Review and audit employee timekeeping records for compliance
    • Welcomes and directs visitors and clients.
    • Maintains filing systems as assigned.
    • Retrieves information as requested from records, email, minutes, and other related documents; prepares written summaries of data when needed.
    • Managing employee schedules and leave.
    • Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions.
    • Coordinates and schedules travel, meetings, and appointments for managers or supervisors.
    • Assists in organizing office events and functions
    • Prepares agendas and schedules for meetings.
    • Records and distributes minutes or other records for meetings.
    • Maintains office supplies and coordinates maintenance of office equipment.

    PAYROLL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Enter in Time and Attendance into HRIS payroll system

    • Reviews payroll entries for accuracy
    • Perform related duties as assigned
    • Assist with general office duties

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire, familiarity with the roles and function of the assigned department, and any specifically applicable laws or guidelines.
    • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
    • Basic understanding of office equipment.
    • Ability to type at least 45 words per minute.
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive company and customer information
    • Ability to professionally interact with clients, the public, contractors, and other employees
    • Proficient using the most current software; Google Suite, Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Driver’s license and clean driving record
    • Ability to pass a background

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Associates in Business or related degree program
    • Minimum of 3-years’ experience related to a generalist, recruiting, or other progressive HR roles and responsibilities
    • Minimum of 1 year experience processing payroll
    • B.S. in HR Management preferred
    • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
    • Familiar with CA time and attendance laws
    • Familiar with CA Leave laws
    • Familiar with CA Employment laws

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer workstation
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. at times
    • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

           

    TRAVEL:

    • Up to 5% Interstate travel
