TX-STAR Speech Language Services partners with school districts throughout Texas to connect students with the communication services they need to succeed. We are currently seeking Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants for school-based opportunities in San Antonio and nearby communities.
These positions are a strong fit for professionals who enjoy helping students strengthen their speech and language skills while working under the direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, you will help deliver therapy services and structured interventions to students with a variety of communication needs.
In this role, you will:
Carry out speech and language activities developed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
Help students make progress toward communication goals identified in their Individualized Education Programs
Provide direct services in individual and small-group settings as assigned
Support students with articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, and other communication needs
Collect performance data and document student participation and progress during therapy sessions
Prepare instructional resources, therapy materials, and activities before scheduled services
Maintain organized service records and complete required documentation within established timelines
Coordinate with the supervising SLP, teachers, campus staff, and other members of the educational team
Follow treatment plans, district procedures, supervision requirements, and applicable compliance standards
Qualifications for This Position
Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field
Current Texas license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant
Ability to provide services under the supervision and direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management skills
Ability to work effectively with students, educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Valid Texas driver’s license when travel between campuses is required
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred
