    JOB PURPOSE

    Under the direction of the Commercial Service Manager and in cooperation with all divisions of the company, is responsible for performing services for customers in a professional and efficient manner.  Operating safely, promoting this organization, and building mutually successful long-term relationships with customers and associates is critical to SM Tire mission and core values.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Practice safe work habits at all times, and abide by Industry, Company, State & Federal Guidelines
    • Perform services in a professional and efficient manner.  Ask for help/assistance if needed.
    • Operating service vehicle that you are assigned to safely.
    • Keeping the service truck you are assigned stocked and ready for work at all times
    • Performing emergency service calls on the roadside
    • Installing anything from large farm tires to the smallest tires
    • Doing the job right the first time, “minimizing come backs”
    • Being on a rotation for our 24 hours emergency service calls and weekend shifts
    • Repairing anything from large farm tires to the smallest tires
    • Interact with all your co-workers in a friendly and professional manner
    • Arrives to work on time and ready to work (with uniform on)
    • Practice all safety techniques that are taught to you
    • Become educated/informed on products the company sells and the various applications.
    • Work orders are to be completed in full and signed by a customer representative and then submitted to Commercial Service Manager after work is completed.
    • Any other duties as assigned by the Commercial Service Manager

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School Diploma (or equivalent) or two years of related experience and or training.
    • Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety.
    • Basic computer skills
    • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
    • Excellent communication skills up and down organizational structure
    • Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills
    • Excellent people and process skills
    • Must be TIA Level 100 Basic Automotive & TIA Level 300 Commercial Tire Service
    • Must provide a California driver’s License or ID Card.
    • Drug test and physical required

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Regularly exposed to moving vehicles, fumes or airborne particles that may be toxic, and the use of computer keyboards and computer screens, and compressed air (in tires or tanks), that can be explosive.  Occasionally exposed to wet and / or hot or cold conditions, and outdoor weather conditions.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
    • Regularly works 40 - 50 hours per week, occasionally works up to 55 hours per week.  This position is a “key” position within the organization
    • The employee regularly works Saturdays, occasionally in the evenings and on Sunday.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Regularly required to work standing up, walking, crouching, climb and / or balance, driving, using hands, legs and fingers. 
    • Regularly required to work sitting, standing up, walking, crouching, climb and/or balance, using hands, legs and fingers and speak and listen both over the phone and in person with fellow employees, or customers.
    • Must regularly lift and/or move up t0 40 pounds, occasionally lift up to a rolling position of 120 pounds.  A lifting devise and/or a fellow associate must be used for objects over 100 pounds. 
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
