  • Responsibilities

    Our office is expanding and we’re looking for a phlebotomist to help us provide first-class patient care! You’ll be responsible for scheduling appointments and collecting lab samples. Our ideal candidate has some experience working in a medical office performing phlebotomy tasks and in an administrative role and knows how to build an excellent rapport with people. This position will start off part-time with flexible hours with the ability to go full-time. Traveling to patient homes and Nursing Homes to collect specimens will be your main responsibility and you will be reimbursed for gas and the use of you car.If you have a passion for helping others and are looking to further your career in the medical field reach out to us today! Responsibilities: • Get examination rooms ready for patients by ensuring the rooms are well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and all equipment is sterilized • Fill out the appropriate insurance forms and document patient appointments, listing all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions on the patient records • Greet patients, handle telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries regarding treatment or prescription refills to make sure each patient has a great experience in our office • Talk with the patient about the reason for their visit and record their personal information and medical history to share with healthcare staff • Help healthcare staff during examination by handing the correct supplies and medical instruments to the physician, positioning the patient, and assisting with other tasks as needed • Say hello to patients when they arrive at the office • Answer the phone and schedule appointments • Draw patient blood samples and prepare them to be collected and sent to the lab Qualifications: • Completed an accredited medical assisting program and an externship in a supervised healthcare setting • Graduated from high school or received GED • Possesses basic computer skills to complete administrative tasks • Passed Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam to obtain certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency • Strong communication skills and customer service skills Compensation: $18 - $20 hourly
