    Unisoft International, Inc. dba SMA Technologies is a rapidly growing software company headquartered in North Houston has an immediate need for a Human Resources Generalist. The HR Department is newly formed, and this role will support the Director of Global HR, leaders, managers and employees in all aspects of HR. Ideal candidate will have a wide breadth of experience in Human Resources, very flexible, excellent computer skills including HRIS and Microsoft Office, excellent interpersonal skills and has a passion for helping build a new team focused on supporting a dynamic business.

    Position objective:

    The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties at a professional level and works directly for the Director of Global HR in supporting him/her. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, compensation, HRIS, employee relations, training / development, performance management, onboarding, employee engagement, retention, policy creation and implementation, talent acquisition, affirmative action, employment law compliance, diversity and inclusion. Works in close collaboration with other members of the Operations team to achieve departmental and company goals.

    Key responsibilities:

    Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.

    Accurately maintains HRIS and compiles reports from the database in a timely manner.

    Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.

    Helps administer the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.

    Performs benefits administration, including open enrollment, claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.

    Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

    Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, temporary employees and contractors; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program; and writes and places job postings.

    Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.

    Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.

    Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.

    Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.

    Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment, benefits and compensation laws and regulations.

    Administers global PTO program.

    Act as liaison between employees and benefits providers.

    Qualifications:

    Education

    Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field

    Experience

    Required: 2 years HR & HRIS experience

    Preferred: 4 years HR & HRIS experience

    Certifications

    Required: N/A

    Preferred: PHR / SHRM-CP

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Sedentary, sitting, walking, infrequent lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
