    Our company is seeking a Durable medical equipment (DME) Biller to conduct our Medi-cal/MediCare/independent Insurance billing process. A Billing Specialist/ Medical Coder is expected to assist with all internal billing needs and compliance. The Billing Specialist/ Medical Coder is responsible for insurance follow up and Accounts Receivable Management. This position is also responsible for Charge Review, Claims Mailing, Documentation Attachment and other duties as necessary to get charges submitted.

    **Prior experience in DME Medical Billing and Coding is a Required

    DME Medical Biller Tasks:

    • Conduct our Medi-cal/MediCare/independent Insurance billing process. - Run eligibility for patients - Timely filing of claims - Actively working to maintain a high percentage of net collection rate - Experience in dealing with denied claims - Work in multiple software systems to accomplish AR results - Furnish invoices for claims when requested - Daily, weekly, or monthly tracking and reporting - Tracking and organizing insurance information - Effectively communicating outstanding A/R with management - Effectively communicating billing, insurance, and coverage criteria updates with staff and management - Help with administrative assignments and projects as needed - Keep up with compliance, coverage criteria, and update all employees as needed - Other duties, as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • DME Medical Billing experience at least 2 years - Certified Medical Coder, preferred - General knowledge of medical insurances in the orange county area - The ability to work quickly and accurately, and pay attention to detail.; Must be proficient in data entry, and able to confirm that patient information is correct and complete - Skills in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner; Must be comfortable speaking with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies - Must have excellent customer service skills; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public. - Proficiency with electronic medical records software - Knowledge of medical terminology (Proven experience in medical billing) - Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular) - Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work - Attention to detail and problem solving skills - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
