SMSI is currently in search of a PLC programmer. This individual will have the crucial responsibility of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting control systems and automation equipment. Responsibilities: • Install and configure control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and other automation equipment. • Program and troubleshoot PLCs to control and monitor machinery and processes. • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on control systems and automation equipment to ensure optimal performance. • Identify and resolve technical issues and malfunctions in control systems and automation equipment. • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to design and implement control system upgrades and modifications. • Document all maintenance and repair activities, including equipment modifications and software changes. • Train operators and maintenance personnel on the proper use and maintenance of control systems and automation equipment. • Stay updated with the latest advancements in control systems and automation technology to provide recommendations for improvement. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electrical or automation technology is preferred. • Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting control systems and automation equipment. • Strong knowledge of PLC programming and HMI configuration. • Familiarity with electrical and electronic components, circuits, and systems. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. Compensation: $30 hourly
