Job Summary

We are seeking an Electronics Process Engineer to join our team! As an SMT Process Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and improving surface-mount technology processes used in printed circuit board assembly. This role supports new-product introduction, SMT equipment programming, solder-paste printing, component placement, reflow profiling, and inspection processes. The engineer troubleshoots manufacturing defects, performs root-cause analysis, develops corrective actions, and works closely with production and quality teams to improve product quality, first-pass yield, efficiency, and equipment uptime. The position also creates process documentation, trains production personnel, and ensures compliance with applicable IPC standards and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Control and improve the manufacturing process for circuit board assembly

Program and support SMT Equipment (AOI, Automatic Pick & Place, Stencil Printer etc...)

Work closely with the team of engineers to hone processes

Keep detailed records of all findings, changes, and modifications

Train operators, maintain process documentation

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on SMT/PCBA manufacturing experience

Experience in an electronics contract manufacturing environment strongly preferred

Ability to program, set up, operate, and troubleshoot SMT pick-and-place equipment

Experience with solder paste printing, SPI, reflow ovens, AOI, and X-ray inspection

Strong knowledge of SMT components, packages, polarity, feeder setup, and nozzle selection

Ability to develop and optimize reflow profiles
