  • Responsibilities
    • RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitors and tracks personnel and payroll data to provide relevant management information.

    • Prepares reports for management's review.

    • Performs comparative analysis of departmental/organizational staffing patterns based on current and projected growth.

    • Ensures wage compliance; verify eligibility for merit increases and Staff Awards.

    • Interprets salary data, performance, and classification history/analysis and makes salary increase recommendations to management based on policy.

    • Ensure that the Facilities are in compliance with all Federal, State and company regulations and policies.

    • Follow up with Payroll and HR Designee regarding eligible employees to confirm enrollment into Health and Welfare plans before the expiration of their Period of Initial Eligibility.

    • Train new employees

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be fluent in employment law, new hire onboarding, LOA, Cobra, benefits, and workers comp process
    • Certified in OIG and DPS background checks.
    • Strong methodological skills in understanding, planning, and deploying organization functions, changes, and development.
    • Working knowledge of organizational development in a large, multi-facility organization, to include assessment, training, and performance management.
    • Leverage a deep understanding of Payroll, Benefits and HR process to provide solutions to Facilities issues and questions, exceeding Facilities expectations and ensuring that the Payroll and HR Designee understand the importance of their day to day task.
    • Have working knowledge to understand and interpret Federal and State Leave of Absence laws such as Family Medical Leave Act, California Family Rights Act, Pregnancy Disability Law; in addition Payroll and Personnel policies, procedure manuals, labor contracts and internal guidelines.
    • Experience with interacting on a one-on one-basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to convey information accurately to all levels of staff and with individuals from various social, cultural and educational background.
    • Must have experience with maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
    • Ability to maintain equanimity in a high-volume public contact office where hostility and misunderstandings may arise.
    • Proficient with PCs, Windows NT and business software such as MS Office, Access, Excel, Word, Outlook.
    • Ability to develop and provide group presentation on a variety of topics related to Disability, FMLA, Worker's Compensation and Health and Welfare Benefits.
    • Skill in writing concise, logical, grammatically correct routine business correspondence.
    • Must be able to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues.
    • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends
    • Ability to perform duties independently and with a great degree of accuracy, meeting established deadlines, working effectively under continual interruptions and heavy workload.
    • Ability to lift heavy personnel files or to carry boxes containing personnel files or benefits materials for up 30 lbs.
    • Prior consulting experience is a big plus
    • Presentation experience, as well as the ability to assists Facilities in the selection, implementation planning, analysis, configuration, testing, roll-out and post-implementation support of Payroll, Benefits and HR Solutions.
